Recently I've been finding a lot of studies suggesting Fibromyalgia may be caused by a dysfunction of the hippocampus. The hippocampus plays a crucial role in the bodies regulation of pain, memories and sleep. Stress also plays a huge role in the function of the hippocampus, and when stressful events occur our bodies release glucocorticoid hormones, specifically cortisol. I'm trying to understand more about the causes of Fibromyalgia specifically in relation to the function of the hippocampus. Anyone else out there researching this or have any information? Thanks

There has been a huge influx of research studies being done lately. All proving one thing or another and I am sure they are all probably right and probably connected. This was the latest one I read on the hippocampus. Do a web search for the Power Brain at Pro health.
