Hi I am new here.My question is does anyone have body jerks? My whole body jerks all day and night and its not just a certain area..My hands,my legs,my back,my neck,my feet, my toes.I don't know if its from fibromyalgia or something else..but it keeps my daily activities complicated because it never stops. If anyone has experienced this please let me know because I don't know what to do.

I had severe body cramps and jerking after being rejected for a med that helped my anxiety. I HAVE IT AND 2 SON ALSO. I would make another Dr. App so they can rule out anything serious.
For myself it took about 3 months for the jerking to stop. I didn't go anywhere for that time, I was also afraid to drive cause my for would jerk. If you can afford it go to your dr. And ask what's going on, you may need to see another specialist. Feel free to text me anytime, I know it's scary, embarrassing, not to mention dangerous. I had at least 6 falls because my feet would not keep up with my brain. God Bless. I hope everything settles down a bit for you.

Hi i have just joined myself and only resently been Diagnosed with Fibromyalga, and i do suffer most days and sometimes when going to sleep a certain part might suddenly jerk. Not by the sounds as to your level.

I've had a "jerk" while going to sleep, guess it's part of the FM. I take all supps for FM and ibuprofen. Got thyroid supported after many years unable to get help.

I suffer from the muscle jerks, too. They weren't there from the beginning, but surfaced during a very bad flare. It was really scary, but after numerous tests, including a spinal tap, nothing seemed to show up. So, it was attributed to my fibromyalgia. Seems like some new symptoms can come about during a flare and never go away....like the muscle jerks. There are some things that seem to make them worse- *always worse during a flare up, *overdoing it or walking or using muscles too much will make them tremble and shake. They are always worse, or more noticeable when I am at rest or trying to sleep. When I am moving around they don't bother me as much, but they will literally cause me to jerk myself "awake" when I'm trying to sleep at night. The only thing that I have found that will work is Klonopin. I don't like taking it because it is a "scheduled" substance, but I take a very, very small amount...0.5 mg and most of the time I take only half of that, so 0.025mg. I have tried to quit taking it and don't have any trouble discontinuing, but the muscles jerks come back. I just don't like feeling dependent on medication to function, but this disease is a hard one to fight. Sometimes, I have to give -in and take some medication to manage the most important things- like getting good sleep. Hang in there and know you aren't alone. Be good to yourself, we all know we could use a little "goodness" :)
