Hello All! I am 35 and just recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia by my PCP. I have had symptoms for close to 2 years and numerous test that were negative which led to my diagnosis. My PCP has decided to manage my pain so that I do not have to go back to my crazy pain management dr. He loved to push muscle relaxers and shots in my back(never worked so they were a waist of time). I am curious if I need to see a Specialist or if my PCP is enough to handle this. I am on numerous meds and have been unable to work for the last 7 months. Other than the pain and pure exhaustion the guilt is getting to me. I feel guilty for being in pain and being exhausted. Hopefully can get better with time.
prayers to you all!

Lesliebc11,

It's good your PCP wants to take care of you. I hope he/she has some experience with fibro.? You can have the conversation with your doc, maybe write down your questions/concerns. Many of us have a 'team' to help us. I have a PCP that is a Naturopathic MD, a pain specialist, a Chiropractor and massage therapist.
Why the guilt? Did you give this to yourself? Of course not! We all go through this, thinking I should be doing....(whatever). Really? You should be taking care of yourself, learning all you can to help yourself; eat, sleep well and learn of supplements that can help, (unfortunately we are all so different this is research plus trial and error). Many little things add up to extra relief.
Glad you are here. Feel free to post your questions, etc. and blow off steam. This is the place to do it!
