Fibromyalgia patients should be measured for BMI. Being overweight aggravates FM as well as predisposing an individual to the development of diabetes and patients with diabetes tend to have more severe symptoms. FM is a common finding in patients with type 1 and 2 diabetes. Its prevalence is related to the control of the disease. FM might be prevented by control of glucose levels.

No offence, but tell us something we don't know already. Weight can make things worse for everyone, even people with no fibro, specially if the person is really obese... that can cause knee and hip problems for anyone, but sometimes weight doesn't have much of a say in FM. I mean, I know a lot thin people who suffer greatly thanks to their FM. I'd not generalize though.
