Yes I have pain everywhere but my worst pain is in my neck, I have weekly acupuncture in my neck and shoulders which helps and do regular neck stretches, also voltarol gel and heat packs help! That's all my neck ammo!

Guys you all suffering from so much, so why you not go and consult one good Orthopedics.

Me too suffered from back pain last year and I have consulted one back pain specialist,,, which helped me a lot.

and now I am perfectly all right. Here I am sharing some informative content which every Orthopedics will tell you in their first meeting with you.

The Role Of Osteopathic Medicine To Your Neck Pain

Neck pains, if left untreated can get worse by affecting other body parts such as shoulders, head and back of the eyes. This may also lead to excruciating headaches and extreme discomfort. Often, the mechanical changes that happen to the neck can lead to pain.

Radicular pain occurs when a nerve is pinched. These pinched nerves cause symptoms like numbness, pain, stiffness and weakness in the arms. If this is not brought to the doctor for immediate medical assistance, this may get worse and the affected part of the arm may lose not function.

In many cases, this may also lead to further pain and tension, especially in the shoulders, arms, neck, back and the legs. And when you are in constant pain, the quality of your daily life will definitely be undermined.

I get a lot of neck pain and spasms...sometimes I wake up & can't turn my head, other times (like today) I am just very stiff - it's my neck and across the tops of my shoulders and I have a headache.

I am in a bit of flare at the moment and I think that's part of the problem. The other part is that when I have a rough night's sleep or the pain is getting to me I tense up. Tension has me either clenching my jaw or it gets into my shoulders....double whammy !

Heat helps, stretching helps - even just flailing my arms around, ha ha - I mean arm circles, shoulder rolls, etc. Sometimes it's gone by noon, sometimes it sticks around for a few days.

I've found that if I sleep wrong my neck hurts so bad the next day I can't turn my head. If I have a nice thick, fluffy pillow under my head, it makes my neck tilt and I wake up in pain. I have to sleep with my neck in a neutral position, which means no pillow or a very thin pillow.

Yeah Lori, in fact, I have the associated cluster headaches which I was attributing to a very badly strained neck. Since you get used to having all this pain, after a while you tend to "right off" a lot of the pain. At least I did which is really dumb. I made my situation far worse than it had to be. I'm not saying that is what yours is...just don't ignore it. Hope you feel better.

How did you strain your neck and how did you help resolve it Nexi? I have put mine down to fibro but it started after long period in bed last summer using my lap top eating propped up and makes faint crunchy sound when i turn my head now.

It wasn't there before and neither was the pain although i consider all of me fibromyalgic.ie i couldn't expect to drive and keep twisting my neck round or repeatedly look up high at a tree or high shelves in a store without my neck aching but now i have severe daily neck pain ...and shoulders arms migraine etc.

Oh the joys of fibro!

Well Willow, mine is something that should never have happened.

So, if you don't know this from reading my posts, I live in the Arctic circle. Here we have what is called "nursing stations". Basically it is like going to a hospital down south and talking to the nurse and them assessing you. From there they determine how to proceed, if medication needs to be given, if a doctor needs to be called, if you need to be flown out or medivaced out.

I had been having an escalating series of events happening and at this point I didn't even have my Fibromyalgia come to mind. One problem was a super sore neck and left shoulder. So the nurse came over to me and told me to look straight ahead and she proceeded to tell me she was going to put "gentle pressure" on my head and she said that when she does this that she wants me to turn my head left. So, okay, I do this. We'll......not good. Right away, I felt a cringe but it did not stay. So, I thought nothing of it. But from then on my neck on the left side just kept getting worse and worse for the next 10 months.

I am sorry to report that I have yet to receive any relief. *sniffles, wimpers* I just try to deal with it day by day. I am unable to work more than a couple of hours a day as it is so, I do what I can to manage the pain.

Oh Nexi thats such a shame. I tend to put everything down to fibro and stay away from docs as much as possible as only i know the crazy reactions i get to even minimal movements and pressure...in fact i am pretty phobic about giving control of my body to anyone as no doctor or nurse gets it.

One twist wrong and i have another problem that maybe never goes away...a bit like you describe.

A bit off topic but i wish there was a chat part on this site i would love just to know what its like living in the Arctic circle!

Thanks Jordan...i've never heard of that plus i wouldn't want anyone to feel pressured to become friendlier than they want as i guess generally they come here for fibro support.

It would be nice though if you feel a bit of a connection with anyone to beable to chat about other things sometimes....a bit like real life as talking about other things and learning about other peoples lives is both interesting and helps you feel social when you are feeling isolated and maybe stuck indoors all day.
