Hi I'm going to try make this very short as its 1.30am here, most dates are very rough as I'm guessing.

At 20 years old I had my first child via c/s. 5 months later my elbow joint were stiff,
I had some blood tests done and showed some high inflammatory markers and my rhumtoid factor was a little high. I had to wait 8 months to see a RA specialist by the I couldn't even get on the floor and play with my baby. My
Mood changed massively when baby was about 10 months old. (Depression but didn't know at the time).

He gave me a 6 week dose of steroids some blood tests and a check up. I did the 6 week dose and then fell pregnant, felt great, I was told it was probably just an unusual bout of inflammotory and I'd probably wouldn't have to see him again.

had another c/s then at 3 weeks pp, depression was unbearable that I went onto lexapro for that then at 5 week pp my incision swelled and my joints and body went weird again. Went back to specialist other than a high inflammatory marker everything else seemed fine.

I was given the answer must be RA and was given steroids and plaqunil because that's all I was able to take while breastfeeding. Didn't work,
Tried another that I can't remember, didn't work. Then I went into sulfasalazine and was on 3000mgs a day, 6 bloody tablets. It helped a little and it started to go away. I went cold
Turkey after about 1 1/2 years and was fine, no symptoms at all.

Then the start of 2015 I had to have a patella stabilisation due to how I was born as I was told (the other needs to be done too) and it set it off again and I've been put into 10mgs methotrexate and that wasn't helping so then up to 20mgs. I have what they call aero-negative rheumatoid arthritis as my blood results show nothing but high inflammation. I'm also on 30mgs lexapro.

But today hoooooly soreness! Every single bone in my body hurts like growing pains 10000x, the joints are grinding, don't touch me as it feels flu like without it actually being the flu. My chest hurts so bad and I'm so scared of my heart failing on me (I worry way too much). My spine hurts, everything just hurts. I lay here in bed and I can feel the pain pulsate in an area and then it'll most some where else and pulsate and then move again, it soulds like its so fake when I try to explain it but it's so bad. Normal Panadol doesn't work, I can't take nurofen or naproxen because it makes my belly sick and endone and things like that put me to sleep but don't actually help with the pain as such.

Does the seem like RA? It's so hard for me to accept this diagnosed with such a yes no then yes answer with no actually written proff to see with my own eyes. It stresses me out so much. Methotrexate days are Friday and Sunday is when I take my folic acid which was today or yesterday as its now 1.40am.

Hope this makes sense as I can't check because I'm on my phone.

Hi lifeisa...pain that moves around pulsating etc does sound like fibro. Has your rheumatologist mentioned fibro to you? i am so sorry you are suffering so much.

Your body has been through a lot with c sections depression and knee stabilisations plus rheumatoid arthritis if the diagnosis is correct.

Can you get a second opinion and voice your concerns about fibromyalgia. Often it does follow periods of stress or load on the body.

It often hits people who are sensitive and have had trauma ether emotional or physical and a leaning towards anxiety or depression.

The pain is very real and severe and some people find various medications..antidepressants...anti epileptic and presription pain relievers do help.

Have a read around this site vent your worries and ask anything you want anytme. Take Care x

It's never been mentioned before but all the bouts of'RA' have been after serious trauma to the body from surgeries. I have mentioned that it seems to happen not long after something big but he doesn't think it's a link, and that some times these things just happen.

I was kicked by my horse about a month ago and have a very large hematoma under the skin. A week ago she reared and broke my friends arm which was extremely traumatising to watch and I made the very had choice to sell her, she left on Saturday which broke my heart. No idea if that's what caused all this bout of pain or not.

I've read that some antidepressants can help with both the pain and then the depression/anxiety but the one I am on is not one of those that I've found so far. I just stress myself out because I'm taking such a strong medication that doesn't seem to be helping at all, it seems like such a bad thing to do to my body (methotrexate).

My RA specialist is 5 hours away because I live in the country and to get into a different one it would be a massive wait but I guess it could be worth it for a second opinion maybe?

Gosh 5 hours from a specialist...thats tough if you are in pain. I dont know much about RA except its an auto immune illness and i would hope the specialist has done enough tests to feel sure of his diagnosis.

Can you have a telephone consultation with him to discuss your concerns or have a talk with your GP(thats what we call our regular doctor we see before a specialist) about the whole thing again...go over how RA has been diagnosed...your concerns about methotrexate and any possibility of fibro.

A second opinion would be good if it was possible as fresh eyes over all the tests and your symptoms might see a different picture.

The main anti depressant used for fibro is amitryptiline at night. It is pretty sedative and makes you woosy so helps sleep and supposedly pain too.

I wish you luck. I understand all your concerns....taking strong meds with side affects is scary.

I have to say pain moving around like that does sound like fibro very much but i dont know enough about RA to know if it can do the same.

Take Care

After the body or mind goes through such a shock like pregnancy c sections it can trigger Fibro that's been laying there dormant .
I agree with willow ,u need to ask your dr if u could have Fibro.it does sound like it.have u tried tramadol really helps me.
