So I'm one of those people that refuse to take pain medication, but I had a tooth pulled last week and they gave me Vicodin for the pain.

I have been taking it for a few days as it really makes a difference in the pain in my mouth. I haven't, however, noticed much, if any, reduction in my other pains.

Is this normal? Shouldn't Vicodin make a difference? Am I just taking such a low dose that it's not effective?

Thanks for any info! :D

Some medications work better for some then others, but it could be the dose you are taking. Vicodin is a drug that is very addictive and when it does work it works well for a time and then wanes off making the user want to increase the dose to get better pain relief. I used it in the past for tooth problems and it was given to me for pain after visiting the ER. I had to stop using it do to being allergic to it. I was glad to get off it for it is a powerful drug. :)
