Default "Must lie down now" but can't. Ideas?

At the same time each day at work, I get an overwhelming urge to lie down. It feels like there's no blood getting to my head, like I'm going to pass out, I start getting a horrible headache. I feel shaky and can't think a coherent thought to save my life. This feeling gets worse and worse until by the time I get home, all I can do is crawl to the couch and lie there for at least an hour before I can do anything else.

My first thought was low blood sugar, because it's around lunch time that this feeling begins. But no amount of eating, timing of eating, or kind of food seems to make the slightest difference. Then I thought it might be low blood pressure, so I've tried compression stockings. No difference. I checked my bp during this time, and it was fine.

The only thing that helps is lying down, preferably with my feet up, but I can't do that at work. This "gotta lie down now" feeling is horrible and it's affecting my job performance. I must keep my job, as I'm a single mom.

Does anyone know what this feeling is caused by or does anyone have any tips or remedies that don't involve lying down on the job, literally?

Thanks.

Are you sure you don't have a Calcium or Magnesium deficiency? Because this is mostly related to the need to fall asleep or at least sit down. I don't think it is related to fibromyalgia. You should see a doctor .

Try eating protien every two hours instead of regular meals. Protien is the strongest fuel and provides the most overall energy. Veggie protien is not the same. There is one brand of jerky I highly recommend, but I can't advertise. It is the only brand thst is grass fed, sugar free, and MSG free with only natural ingredients. They are sold on Amazon. Also try magnisium and vitamin D3 suppliments.

If you could work it out so you could take a 20 minute break at that time of day, take a short nap. Honesty with your boss is very important, so just explain that you're fighting chronic fatigue and a quick nap break is essential to keeping you productive.

When you're home in the evening, take a detoxbath with epsom salt and apple cider vinegar. Add kelp if you can, because it is extremely rich in essential nutrients that your body will absob from a hot bath. The bath will relieve tension, draw out toxins, and help you relax so you can sleep more deeply at night.

Also, are you getting 8 hours of sleep? You CANNOT heal or gain energy on less than 8 hours. Try taking valerian root (3-4 pills) at night to help shut your nerves down so you can sleep more deeply. Also, I'm a huge fan of using an essential oil defuser at night. Lavendar will help you relax and sleep.

I'm not at all sleepy, I just feel like I must lie down or I'll pass out. My doc checked my calcium and magnesium levels. Both were in normal range, but I'm taking a magnesium supplement anyway to try to relieve some of the muscle spasms.

You must have hypotension. These are all the symptoms of it, which means that you need to visit another doctor (a specialist) that will tell you how to proceed further.

I'm so sorry you are having to deal with this scary thing. I used to have something similar but mine didn't come on regular times during the day. I think it could be a mix of things.. like bad sleep, neck problems, bad posture at work, diet, hormones etc. It would be best to start changing your diet, going to doctors to get your neck checked etc.. One by one you could exclude things until you figure out what it is. Good luck

Corvid,
It might be a inner ear problem. This can cause the symptoms you have mentioned can can come on fast with no warning. Some people use over the counter motion sickness pills, but you doctor could prescribe (Meclizine) and it does help and keep it from coming back. It is also know as verigo. It can cause weakness and dizziness, fatigue and headaches.

Another thought is maybe you are affected by an allergy to something at the office, such as the rugs or even stale air from the air conditioning, or mold. I used to get so sick when flying in an airplane or just walking in a store where the air conditioning pushed stale air around. If it happens more at work then anywhere else something there might be causing the problem. A small fan at your desk if allowed might help you breathe better.

Did it just start recently? Did they recarpet the office? Anything new or different there? Think about it.

Corvid, if this started happening recenetly, then you should really see a doctor. Anytime I hear someone is starting to feel extremely fatigued and tired all of a sudden a lot things cross my mind. You should really see a doctor, not all the symptoms we all have are being caused by fibro, sometimes those symptoms are actually caused by some really serious diseases and that's why you should ignore symptoms. Just go see your GP and tell him all your symptoms. I'm sure he will order some lab tests (if he is a good doctor) if he just disses you then you should find a new GP.

Best of luck!
