Doctors are concerned about me and would like me to be closer to medical facilities. I have been having tests done for Lupus and .... yeah .... I can add it to my list of ailments.

I'm in disbelief! ... Yeah ...

Oh Nexi I am sorry this is happening you too. I have just looked up lupus and it looks horrible.

Have they definitely confirmed you have it?

Take Care x

I'm sorry this is happening to you - you've said how much you enjoy living in the arctic. Lupus is difficult to diagnose (like fibromyalgia). Let's hope this new information will help the doctors get you more effective treatment.

Thanks gals. It is definitely Systemic Lupus Erythematosus. They have been doing tests for over 6 months, so yeah. It actually explains a lot.

It definitely gives me a different set of parameters to work within but I shall accept it as a challenge. As for moving...well there are worse things in life. There are some positives ... I will be able to see my grandchildren more, and perhaps get some physical therapy. ..the list goes on.

I'm so sorry nexi, my dad has lupus as well as two other family members of mine. It could be very tough, beware of the sun as if my dad is out to long without a hat or sunscreen it causes him a lot of problems. I wish you all the best and I know that you can overcome this.

Thank you Jordan. You probably could give me a good rundown on Lupus. I have had issues with the sun but it hasn't always been that way. I'm just not sure how much of what I am feeling I can attribute towards the sun. Do you know what I mean? I get a bad rash, welts/blisters but I also feel nauseated, get dizzy, drained of all energy and just completely gross. But typically I also have been out doing stuff so I am thinking that I feel like that because I did too much.

So sorry to hear this nexi, lupus is a just a awful diagnosis for you, as if you have not got enough to cope with, if you do have to up sticks and move I hope you get the treatment you need, and are able to get some comfortable less pain days, and do enjoy your grandchildren , they are a god send , my granddaughter can put a smile on my face by just being there. Even through all the pain, good look , take care

Awww, thanks Miss Chloe, I really appreciate the kind words.

It is looking more and more likely that moving south will happen. The company still wants us to work for them, surprised the heck out of me! I'm such a sick individual, but they have sister companies all down south, so they are just asking us to hang tight until they can move people out of stores to make room for us 4 coming in. They even offered to continue to pay for our housing, food, utilities, vehicles, and vacation. How can we say no? I was so worried about everything and yet leaving the Arctic circle will be sad. It is such an awesome experience.

So, all in all, I am doing more research about Lupus and trying to wrap my head around what I need to prepare for. There is so much...it is overwhelming. Anybody with knowledge, either first hand or via family, please feel free to give me pointers. If I can avoid any unnecessary "growing pains", this would be great.

Hugs

I'm so sorry you are going through all this. Here's hoping you don't have lupus.

Thank you Misschloe, I agree with you, grandchildren can make you forget your pain at least temporarily. I'm still trying to hold out hope that I can stay up north but in reality it isn't going to happen. I have a need of too many specialists. What really ticks me off is last summer we finally ended up selling our beautiful condo, furniture and all! So, we now have to buy again and refurbish and I have no energy or desire. So, our youngest daughter and her hubby are sharing a house with us and we are having an in law suite. This will be awesome. Our daughter has rheumatoid arthritis since she was an infant, uveitis and glaucoma. So her and I can be together one functioning individual...and we have always lived together so...win, win. This way my hubby won't worry about the fact that I am home alone.

Yeah Kasmaflower, I have been hoping that for a long time now but when the indisputable facts lie before you...well, it just is disheartening...but I do myself no favors by denying it at this point. Am I scared, heck yeah! I will just take it one day at a time. Thank you for your kind words. Hugs.

A horrible diagnosis for you Nexi but it sounds like you have fantastic family and having an in-law suite sounds like a great option for you all.

I hope everything goes okay for you and your family , new beginings bring new things let's hope this is a more comfortable and settled future for you and your family, good luck take care, here's to new beginings onwards and upwards,

Keep us posted.

One of my many Dr's said I needed to be checked for lupus.

Oh really moe? Has anything more been done?

Thanks Willow and Misschloe. ..hugs :D
