Laitly I've been having burning in the Bottom of both feet. To the point I have to shift from one foot to the other to stand. What I'm getting at is.....it's getting worse. I'm not going to another Dr. JUST TO HAVE THEM SAY, "THERE'S NOTHING WE CAN DO". BUT HERE'S YOUR BILL.

I get burning feet. I have plantar fasciitis & wear custom orthotics. I have been off work since mid-April
and find it is much better. I can still walk my dog though. My feet tingle now (which is something new
for me) & that can easily morph into burning, but the burning is usually of short duration. When I was
working, it was chronic & often woke me up at night. I understand the many people who have fibro also
have plantar fasciitis. I sometimes use ice to calm the flames.

When my symptoms are worse than normal, sometimes the skin on top of my feet feels burned - like I just touched a hot pan. Like Hsmommy, I find it helps to use ice or a fan to calm my skin down. When it is really bad, it is difficult to wear socks and shoes, as anything that touches my skin aggravates it. But having a fan blow on my feet is very soothing.

I get pins and needles in my feet, and they hurt.really hurt.im laying in bed right now ,and my feet are killing me.i no il have to get up ,and then it really hurts.i also get burning to add insult.

I have burning nerve pain in my feet. I used to think there was only one type of burning feet pain, but there's really several, pain is much more complex then people say it is.

It depends on the location of your pain- If I were you and you wanted to pursue with a doctor is print out a diagram of different angles of a foot and take a highlighter or colored pencil or marker and draw over where the pain is, if there is multiple types distinguish that. Then ask for an appropriate referal- they'd probably try a podiatrist first, never seen one so can't say how useful they'd be. I assume like most specialists it's very hit or miss. Depending on the type of pain they *might* consider what you are going through as worthy of nerve based inspection, so I'd guess a neurologist... Or if it's very joint focused or allodynia probably a rheumatologist.

My pain is mostly burning but not usually in the soles of my feet (plantar fasciitis), though it is a little more now then it used to be. My pain- toes: felt like someone was stabbing my toes mostly my joints with something jagged constantly; Feet: touching the sheet/blanket hurt (allodynia) - they make 'foot tent' equipment for this; whole foot: and a general burning sensation which is most likely nerve related pain. It might be fibro, it might be peripheral neuropathy which can have several causes - most notably diabetes but that has been ruled out numerous times in my case. I unfortunately can't get these symptoms addressed since other stuff has just been more life limiting, even when these are at their worst.

my dr. diagnosed me with severe peripheral neuropathy on top of my fibro, which sucks lol. My symptoms include burning soles of my feet, intense and constant pins and needles in my hands and sometimes feet, my upper arms usually feel very cold (almost freezer burnt like) and sometimes randomly my right knee will either feel hotter than the rest of my leg, or freezing when the rest of my leg is fine. I was prescribed gabapentin for this and let me tell you- it is the ONLY thing that helps. Not fully, but enough to mostly function. I also take a prenatal vitamin and B12 as B12 is very important for this type of thing. A lot of times being low on that can cause the pins and needles so maybe have your vitamin levels checked? I'm sorry- it totally sucks.
Things that help- strange as it sounds, massaging my feet or hands and elevation for a little while. I have laid in bed at times with ice packs on the bottoms of my feet or rested them in cool bath water for a short bit for relief as well

I used to have burning feet daily and also burning hands, but this was when I went off all my meds. I used to ice them every night, slept with an iced bottle of water for each foot lol it really helped sooth the burning sensation. I couldn't sleep without it. But after I went back on meds (Cymbalta and Gabapentin), the sensation is now minimal and not daily. I still have the burning hand sensation daily, I've almost become used to it. I massage them or ice them when they're too bothersome. Showers help!

Hsmommy-I also have plantar fasciitis and wear customized orthodics! I did not know many fibronites have this condition as well...

I'm glad to hear the meds are helping! When you find the right combo it makes a big difference

There is a over the counter treatment that a friend of mine says works for peripheral neuropathy. It is called Cobroxin. It is made from a small amount of cobra venom. He says you rub a small amount on the bottom of your feet and it stops the pain. At first you put on a small amount once a day, then every three days, and then once a week. You figure time frame by how fast your pain level drops and how soon your pain is gone. It can be found on online. My brother uses it for his elbow pain and says it works great. Worth trying. It can be found as a topical gel in small bottles or jars.
Look for the liquid and Do Not use it orally. You rub it into your skin in very small amounts. (It seems someone came up with a "bright idea to make a pill form and a mouth spray. These are very dangerous and can make you sick. Do Not Ingest this product.)

My feet burn too ...they kind of vibrate then burn then as the burning continues they throb...its hard to walk on and it still kills laying in bed...thanks for the tip 1sweed...I had never heard of Cobroxin...wonder if its available in the UK.

i had the same problem. Thankfully that it resolve.

Hi moe1959 - How are you doing? Have you found anything to help yet? Let us know?:?:
I also have horrible burning pain in both feet. It covers the entire bottom and goes all the way up the back of my legs. The backs of my heals burn and hurts so severely that when I get up I can hardly walk. Moving, stretching, and ice help, but the pain comes back very quickly and I have a hard time being on my feet for longer than 45mins. I am certain this is all from my fibromyalgia and still sorting out medications to help. I have pain in more places of my body to the point it is getting debilitating!! Ugh.

I only wear one type of shoe, not sure I can say what one that helps my back , knee and feet pain. My foot pain was horrible burning was becoming daily and I bought a new pair. It is not daily now or as bad as it was previous. They are not dressy, but I am almost 50 and do not care how cute they are, would really like to have a pair of boots, but there is no way.
