let's list our embarrassing complaints

Hi,

I thought maybe it is time for us all to share our embarrassing complaints, mostly to know that we often actually all suffer from the same. It can be fibro-related or not, more or less embarrassing/serious, but let me start off with my list;

- vaginal flatulence - I don't know why I suffer from this. I've never given birth and haven't had sex in more than a decade. Especially around my periods, I have this really embarrassing problem.

- hemorrhoids/piles - I started suffering as a young teenager, so I have always been careful about what I eat, and always drink lots of water. Every time I feel constipation coming up, I fear it will happen again. When they do, they can be so painful and last 5-10 days.

- serious hair loss - I know this is quite common as women age. It saddens me how the world focuses on its effects on balding men, whereas when a woman goes bald/loses significant amount of hair, it can also be seriously traumatic. Look at any shampoo/fashion commercial, if you don't have a head of full shiny healthy hair, you are not an 'attractive woman'.

- runny and stuffy nose - I always have a runny nose - winter, summer, night or day. When outside my house, I have to go into a bathroom stall to really clean out my nose. Blowing it doesn't seem to clean it all up in there. It feels horrible having to go in there with tissues and dig out all the nastiness, but it really has to happen!

I am sure I have more...but now it is your turn....

LOL vicky you made me smile even though none of it is to smile about....so i have girls bits burning throbbing pain and all inside too and in my bladder not just now and again but most days to varying degrees.

My nasal passages have also been dry these last few years..so yes stuffy...not sure if i will admit to digging out ..maybe i do but can i keep that secret!

My breasts hurt a lot too. ...and all the ribs underneath...so i am also definitely not interested in sex!

I have had a baby but no vaginal flatulence..lol at least only in the days when i did have sex and occasionally you get a noise like a trump just pops out....haha this thread had given me the giggles.

My past lovely glossy thick hair is also suffering..my hairbrush gets full up with hair and so does the shower and hoover! It doesn't show as bad as for some as i had very thick to start but it has that wispy thin around my neck line i try and disguise with longer hair from higher up over it.

Thanks for the unusual thread!

bwahahaha. I'll bet almost all of us have bouts with hemroids. I didn't realize the are a direct response of FMS.
Oh my...digging for gold is what my son called the lets say nasal cleaning!

I think for me, when I was down so severe I couldn't hardly make it from the bed to the bathroom I had gone days without a shower or even bothering changing pj's. As I finealy make my way to the kitchen my son and a group of friends walk in to see what I'm sure they thought was a cast member for the walking dead. I had to shuffle past them to get back to my room fearing the whole time they may catch a smell coming off me.

Random vomitting also was horrible. The grocery store probably considered banning me as "Clean up on isle __ " was repeated twice in one short visit. Oh the dirty looks I got.

Anyway...this is a post about embarrassing results of fibro so I'll refrain from giving advice for the sinus and hair loss situation. But let me know if you need some things that really helped me.

I want to contribute but none of the things that were mentioned fit for me. I speak in tongues from time to time but that's probably for a different forum, <G>

How about a fibro fog moment.

Took the trash out to the curb, and when I came back in I heard a motor type sound. Look around and saw that the shredder was on. Now mind you this shredder, you have to turn the knob. You cant just bump into it. Have no idea how it started

Now what else is turned on?, and is there anybody I called. Need to check the appliances and the phone.

Hi! You're right diamond, it's not funny but sometimes we have to laugh to keep from crying! Lol. I think I have experienced all of the above. I hate when I'm starving and go into the kitchen to make a sandwich but then go to the sink (empty) thinking I'm in there towash dishes!
Has anyone gone into the bathroom and forgot if you were there to pee or brush your teeth?!
I am a customer service rep and lately because I'm in flare mode, I completely stop mid sentence when talking totally forgetting what the issue was!

These are just a few. I'm really going through a hard time right now and I'm glad to know I'm not alone!
Soft & Gentle Hugs to all!!!

Fibro fog is indeed a good example, as well. Lately I find myself being quite talkative (which is very rare and unusual for me, I am usually a very quiet person), but my sister/mom then stop me to do something or something happens, I tell them to stop that and just hear my story out because I will forget it in 30 seconds. It is like this race against the clock - if I don't tell you this story now, I shall never be able to tell it. It has caused quite a lot of awkward and somewhat funny moments in the house lately.

Me - talking endlessly about old friends and professors from university
My sister - 'I have to go pee now, tell me the rest of the story when I come back'
Me - 'no no, you have to listen to the end now, otherwise I will forget it. I will come with you and tell you the rest of the story from the other side of the door, while you pee'
My sister - 'ok....weirdo sister of mine'
Me - 'no, just foggy sister of yours'

Since I'm not " officially DX'd yet " I can only guess at certain things. My shrink doc knows that I am a light weight with certain medications. He RX's an amount so small that the pharmacy does not carry that 5MG amount so they do not fill it. He has to rewrite it and state " cut in half " but when it arrives the label split the amount so the 1 was on one line and the ZERO was on the next line. I thought that they sent me 1 MG pills instead of 10. So at 4 AM when I awoke I took 5 pills and swallowed them with my OJ. A moment later I thought to my self: I don't ever remember needing to take 5 pills all at the same time so I went back and looked at the bottle again. That's when I realized that I took 50 MGs instead of 5. I drove myself to the ER and was just starting to feel odd when I got there, I tried throwing up but I'm not good at that...I had 4 fingers so far down my throat I thought my hand was going to get stuck.

As mentioned in another post, the ER was not happy to see me at 5 AM with an " accidental overdose " and part of their 3rd degree was why I drove myself instead of calling 911.

The nurse told me to help me worry less that she looked up the medication and 50 mg was a common dose for real troopers so they didn't worry and basically watched me for 5 hours when I started feeling better, but they kept me for a total of 7 hours before releasing me. They knew from the list of medications that I told them that I take that it wasn't a suicide attempt. I just felt really STUPID.

My shrink wanted me to take a competency test which insulted me

My new neighbors told me that I can call them ANYTIME of the day or night if I need help. The know that my back and neck get so bad that I have to lay on the floor and then I have a difficult time climbing off the floor.

Not sure if that was a FOG moment or just a stupid moment?

I'm usually talkative and when that pain comes out of nowhere and tears steam out of my eye's I usually CAN'T TALK. I might nod yes or no but otherwise can't talk. Maybe this is also do to my somewhat paradoxical reaction to many meds.? Just speculating.

Did I ask elsewhere about this crying thing that I experience? I wonder if anyone else experiences this: My pain is so intense that tears stream out of my eye's but I am not BOO HOO crying; just tears.

What a good idea! this may be a bit TMI but when im in the middle of a bad flare and literally everything hurts! My skin, nails and even my hair when i shake my head and it moves!

But my lady parts are also very sore as well! Im an administrative assistant at a front desk and its so hard to find a comfortable position!

I also get very bad tenderness during my time of the month. Sometimes i cant even sit on my bum because its so sore. Also going pee and number two is very painful during that time!

This happens to me all the time! It's the funniest thing! Because I feel terrible for interrupting people but if I don't, I will never remember what I'm saying!

At my young adults group, if I have something to add in a discussion I'll put my finger up and people are usually pretty good at letting me share before I "loose my train" 😂

also I've found myself washing my hair about 4 times because I forgot that I had already washed it!

Also I misread things all the time and get really confused because the word that my brain thought it was doesn't make sense at all!

And I also forget words a lot! Or I'll say the wrong words. Like saying good night instead of saying good bye and correcting myself only to say goodnight again!

Re: let's list our embarrassing complaints

You gave me the giggles again Sabrina..not at you but kind of with you at how crazy this illness is..i too say funny things all the time when i cant think of the right word... some like these are added mid sentence and luckily from the context make sense to my partner

..but might be cold air thingy for aircon unit..or say grabber thingy for a window or door handle..or cut off thingy for sellotape dispenser when my mind goes blank...the best is squirty thingy for bathroom spray cleaner!

Oh yes and sweeper thingy for broom or even the hoover....embarrassing if you are actually socialising..i think i find conversations with other people harder as i cant follow their quick change of subjects or take in what they say they are doing later that day..then i might ask..what are you up to today? and they have already told me!

I was so sharp once and worked at a high level job .....but my brain has turned to mush sometimes nowadays.
