Default Amnyriptolane

After being off of Amnytripolane for a season ,I decided loosing sleep and keeping hubbie awake, I would go back on.
For the first week I was in heaven ahhhh sleep, lots of it. But!,, Drumrole.....Im Having side effects., swollen white tounge, scalloped edges, and due to the swelling scalloped tounge. I was so happy at first, but now I know what the exact culprit is. Now what? Ive tried every over the counter sleep aid possible. .

Hi moe,

What keeps you awake? Is it pain? Or just racing thoughts?

I've been trying Tramadol 50mg slow release and sleeping a lot better but I'm scared to take it every night for fear of getting hooked. I'm just using it a few nights a week because I sleep ok if my pain is less.

The amitryptoline probably causes dry mouth which would account for the white scalloped tongue. If your tongue is actually swelling from it then that's not good....an allergy?

Anyway, thinking of you. XO

oh gosh I had lots of drugs side effect included swollen tongue before. It's absoltuly horrible and my throat oh my throat!!. My mouth so dried , I get dehydrated, I get short breathing and horrific hyperventilating attack , then I panic. Then cold sweat woken me up in the middle of the night. The only drug that I had no physical side effect and able to help me sleep was Lorazepam, but my fibro fog just got in the way .

Right now I eat a few hand full of raw brazil nut if I can't sleep. It's an old remedie that still works very well help claim my crazy body. Cause I gets lots of heart raising , spasming, buzzing, and other annoying symptoms that kept me awake for days beside all those pains, and so many sleep disturbance that made me jump out of bed only to landed on the wrong side.

This med does cause dry mouth..so yep sore and white coated tongue and sore throat and gum issues have arisen for me from meds that cause dry mouth.

We try to solve one thing and cause another....then that can cause more long term because too little saliva can cause digestion issues and heartburn...lol then you try heartburn and acid reflux meds ...what do they cause dry mouth!!!!

LOL!! so true .. SO TRUE!

You know, sadly took me almost a year to uncovered that truth! I was too busy jacking my self up with loads of liquids for my dehydration and always wonder why it never get hydrated. I ended up blow up like a water ballon after and still feel so dried I was yelling at my own bladder when I ended up flushing it all off.
