Default Hello! Struggling in London.

Hi...I'm new here. I'm 46, married with two children (7 and 11 years old) and I was diagnosed officially two years ago but my family doctor was pretty sure I had fibromyalgia for a year before that. It took a long time to get a referral to a specialist here in London. I've tried to adjust diet and activity levels but I'm still very up and down and in pain a lot of the time. And SO tired. I'm getting very depressed and wanted to connect with others who also suffer and try and figure out some supports and strategies.

Blessings!

Hi Brighteyes,

Sorry to hear it's official, but it's good being diagnosed instead of always wondering 'what's wrong?' If you don't mind me asking, what makes your
family doctor believe you had it a year before? Were there certain ailments, test results? Apparently, I had been having issues with IBS for a while, although never any issues except for occasional constipation, so I wonder if that made me predisposed or maybe was an indicator.

Hope you can find some tips/advice that can be helpful to you on here, prayers to you too!

Mostly it was the ongoing pain and the tender points, combined with anxiety and not sleeping, that convinced my doctor. She's been very supportive.
