I suffer from fibromyalgia and the doctors I have just keep pushing me off on others. My internal medicine Dr. Say she didn't diagnose me with it so she will not treat me for it. My rheumatologists says because its not an autoimmune disease that she don't have to sew me so she tries to push me off on the internal medicine doc but that didn't work so she helped me get a pain management doctor whom I love but isn't really helping me with all my other issues and i work for the UA and need paperwork (FMLA) completed but when they did they didn't tell the truth about fibromyalgia so it was denied. I need someone that will help me with this disorder. I need someone that will listen to me and believe me. Can you help with this? I just need a doctor I cab trust and knows what fibromyalgia is all about and how it affects a persons body.
Hi, my name is Camilla Shepherd and I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia in April. I was a custodian at the UA and I had to give up my job. I am currently taking fibromyalgia medication, it helps but it doesn't take the pain away. It's just helps it to be managable. Find another doctor, soon. Do you have paperwork so that other doctors can see that you have a history of chronic pain. All i can do is tell you to hang in there. I currently go to Alabama Multispecialty Group in Northport. However, they have diagnosed me with myalgia which could come from fibromyalgia. It took me almost a year to get diagnose. You are going to have to see a lot of doctor. If I were you I would talk with a sports medicine doctor then see if that help. I am currently still going to doctors. I am having stomach problems as well. It's not going to be easy at all but hang in there. I am still going through things with my diagnosis so it takes a long time just be patient. I also had to change my dosage of my medication. You have to be very aware of your symptoms because their is no cure, they just manage the symptoms.
