I have been adding anti-inflammatory foods to my diet to help in a natural way in dealing with the pain and swollen joints and feet. When I take raw pineapple, and eat only that for the whole day, it usually seems to help with the inflammation . I have also tried cherry juice, or just eating cherries, and also strawberries, as they are all said to help, and I am also trying to get closer to a raw food diet.
Is anyone else doing this, and if so, what have you found that helps ?

Thank you so much for posting this! My mom is having a terrible problem with her joints and arthritis in general. Her doctor gives her shots sometimes but it just lasts for a month or so. After reading what you posted, I looked it up to tell her stuff like "what kind and how much?"

I've found that it's tart cherries and juice that's best and the article I read recommended tart cherry juice twice a day for three weeks to reduce the markers. Is that... what? Like two 8-oz glasses a day, do you think?

It started when I wanted to lose some weight, and I found the original Beverley Hills Diet. This has been several years ago, so I don't remember exactly how it went, but there were different fruits you ate each day to cleanse and detox the body.
When I started, I was creaking around, using my crutch, and barely moving. Then I got to the pineapple day, and maybe watermelon. (My husband was having a fit.... "you have to eat more than pineapple".. you get the idea) Anyway, after about 3-4 days of the fruits, I was not only walking with no crutches, I was literally hopping and jumping, just because I COULD ! Even Bobby had to agree that anything that helped me to feel so much better, had to be good for me.

I did lose some weight, and enjoyed the diet until I just got worn out on fruit, but since then, when I have too much stiffness and pain, I declare a pineapple day, and in a day or so, I am almost always getting around a lot better. ( I need to find that book again).

I have not seen an improvement yet from this. But I think I will. The foods I do believe will help me to suffer last pain. Keep us posted on your progress with this as well.

The following are labeled 1 to 10 based on how much they helped me

1. salmon oil (by far the best about 100 times more effective than almonds and twice as effective as cod liver),
2. Cod liver oil 3. raw garlic,
4. Flaxseed,
5. salmon
6. ground turmeric
7.ground ginger,
8. macadamia nuts
9.kale
10. almonds

I hope this helps, i tried to put stuff that was easily incorporated into normal diets

1.salmon oil and cod liver oil are just easy daily supplements
2. Raw garlic is a little hard but you can put it into salads or have "kyolic garlic" supplements
4. flaxseed goes great in oatmeal smoothies cereals, and breads
5. salmon is an easy centerpiece for a gourmet dinner
6. Ground turmeric can easily be made into a delicious tea!
7. Ground ginger can be made into a tea as well
8.Kale is easy to put in salads, but a fun healthy alternative is kale chips (many recipes can be found with a simple google search)
9. Macadamia nuts and almonds are an easy snack to just carry around (as long as you carry around a macadamia nut cracker)

Kmpisces i just wrote a response with links to simple recipes and it said a moderator would have to approve it, so just in short these are the top 5 things that have helped my pain due to their anti-inflammatory properties.
1. Salmon Oil
2. Cod Liver Oil
3. Raw Garlic
4. Salmon
5. Ground Turmeric
These are all easily incorporated into any diet even ground turmeric which you can make a yummy tea out of ! (a quick google will bring lots of recipes to the table)
Hope this helps!

Turmeric (the spice) is a big help for reducing inflammation. You can sprinkle a bit on your food or use it to color your rice. But many people with fibromyalgia and joint pain have used turmeric successfully to reduce inflammation. Dark cherry juice is a great help also. You can find these at health food or upscale grocery food stores. Hope this helps.
