Hi everyone,
My name is Kristin, and I am thankful to have found this forum. My issues are many...Crohn's disease, psoriatic arthritis, facet arthritis in lower spine, degenerative disc disease, gout, but I have known I have fibromyalgia long before my doctor agreed. Severe, crippling pain mostly in my pelvis, hips, calves...my whole lower body, but sometimes upper shoulders, neck and back. I have been dealing with this since 2008. Because I have so many issues the doctors have just bounced me around. I can't take NSAIDS because my colon flares. Have been on Hydrocodone for two years with little relief. I am never without severe pain. I tried Cymbalta a few years ago but was so wigged out of my mind with only two doses...I could not function. So I didn't continue. I am now going back to it on a 20mg dosage once a day to see if I can slowly tolerate. I read some of the thread on Cymbalta here, so I know there are others who have had difficulty adjusting. Can any of you tell me if there is a better time to take a dose? My thinking is maybe before bed and I won't feel as wigged out in the a.m. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Good idea, try at night. BUT.......if you still feel weird, tell your Dr. Hopefully he or she will find something else.
Without knowing your History, as a lay person, it's hard to say. May I ask are you also on lyrica? Some Dr's are perscribe the 2 together. "THAT ONE CA US ED ME TO GA IN 30 LBS.

artbykris, i see why it's hard to diagnose the fibro with all the stuff you have going on.

yes, take it at night. its a very low dose. there are only a few meds to try for fibro. give each one 4-6 weeks and if not working
change the meds.

You said, the hydro is not helping anymore. ween off of it and try something that works. your wasting money on the drug.
spend it on something that works.

work with your doctor to get you to a livable pain level. start a treatment plan that works for you.

learn about fibro and how it affects the body.

No, haven't done lyrica. No extra pounds needed! :) I jogged 5 miles a day before this hit me. Now I can't even walk 2 houses away. Prednisone for the last two years...40 pounds added.

Thank you for the advice. I will try it at night and slowly increase if it doesn't make me crazy.
