Just last spring I started using medical cannabis for the treatment of my Fibro pain. I have found it very helpful and am interested in the experiences of others who have been using it as well. Within a very short amount of time I was able to cease taking opiate pain medicine, and I now rely almost exclusively on medical cannabis in combination with CBD. I also take Advil and a muscle relaxer at times for certain kinds of back pain, but I have found the medical cannabis to be most of the time the best thing I have tried so far.

I do realize it won't work so well for everyone, although I wish it would. And, of course, it is not legal everywhere, although I am hoping that will change if enough people work on it.

For me, there have been times when it has taken a debilitating pain away within 5 minutes, as if it were magic. But of course, it's not always that effective, and I am still experimenting with what, and how much, and when it works the best. I use tinctures only, because I won't damage my lungs by inhaling smoke or vapor. I am working on making my own tinctures as well.

Anyone else here have experiences, whether good or not good, with medical cannabis that you would like to tell?

sadly its not legal in the UK .do you use a strain with thc in that helps the pain?

What I use is both CBD and THC. For pain relief, a combination of both is best, because all by itself CBD has very unpredictable results. Most people don't report a whole lot of effect from just CBD, although some folks say it helps. Scientific studies have shown that combining it with THC is what really causes it to work for pain relief, and for me that is what is working. I am very lucky to live in a place where I can get it. I wish you could, too.

I have been using medical marijuana since April and it has really helped a lot. It does take awhile to figure out what strains and form of delivery will work for you, so patience is required and it is expensive.

How often do you take it ? I went to a clinic that prescribes CBD in capsules and am afraid of side effects given that I take blood pressure meds and blood thinners. Would like to try it . It is legal here in Canada.

Hi Cintulinki. I take it as needed, and that isn't every day but it is most days.

CBD alone is another thing, and is not likely to be as effective without the addition of the THC, but by all means give it a try and see if it works for you. Some people report benefits from CBD alone. There aren't any side effects that I know of from CBD alone. But you should consult with your doctor or with a pharmacist, and/or go online and research the drug interactions with the medications that you are taking.

I had to get a medical referral to get a card to allow me to buy medical cannabis, so the doctor who did that for me was fully aware of the medications I take. It's always necessary to clear that before you start anything new.

The best part for me is that if I dose it correctly I don't feel "high" from the cannabis. Of course, if you are only taking CBD it can't make you high in any case, but it also is not as effective for pain relief. Best of luck, and please post if it works for you or not because I am very interested in other people's experience with it, whether they are taking CBD or CBD/THC.

Hi,
I've been taking 10 mg CBD capsules with only a 0.03% THC content for about 1.5 yr now. Started with 8 mg at first. I have with my Fibro what I call the crawlies, it's a skin sensitivity that feels like bugs crawling on me. The CBD helps with this issue. It helps with the burning and stinging pain I have but on bad days I will have to double the dose to make a difference.

I find that the CBD/THC mixture also helps me with that crawling sensation on the skin.

Is the crawling sensation you have like electrical impulses in every follicle? I'm trying the medical now and it is not doing anything for pain or the skin thing. Tia

Yes, it feels like tiny electrical shocks, or being walked on by thousands of insects. Very unpleasant. The mixture I am using relieves that quite well, and also helps a lot with back pain, allowing me to do more exercise than I used to do, and in turn the exercise is helping my body deal with the effects of the Fibro. You can get it in AZ, if you simply get a medical card. Expensive, but I think it is so worth it.

How do you use medical cannabis? Does it come in pills or maybe oil like CBD does and what is tinctures? I don’t know if I can even use cannabis in my home state of Texas. I’m very sensitive to most all pain meds. Too may side effects. I would like to give cannabis a try to see if would help with my fibromyalgia pain. Soft hugs to you all. 🤗

You will not be able to get it in Texas if they have not made it legal. Some states have medical use only legality, others anyone can buy it, and some places it's not even legal for medical uses.
Colorado would probably be the closest place to get it, if you live in west Texas, I don't know about more eastern states. Anyone can buy it in CO. Maybe you will know someone who is going to a state where it is simply legal to buy (CA, WA, OR, CO, not sure about others, but you can Google it) and that person might be willing to buy you some.

A tincture is a liquid form, usually in a coconut oil, that you put under your tongue. I like it best because it is so fast acting, it's amazing. Plus, I am not about to inhale anything, don't want to do that to my lungs. It is also available in various edible things like gummies, which take longer to work but work just as well.

Thank you so much for answering my questions. My sister knows someone who sells the kind that you drop under your tongue. I should have it tomorrow.

Great! Let me know how it works for you. Try a very small amount first, work up to what you need.
