Hi there. Apparently I’ve been on here before, because I have an account, but I’d completely forgotten. Fibro brain!!! 😳
I read through the previous post on nausea, but I’m in one of those, ‘Help, nothing’s working’ moments. I’ve had Fibro for a very long time - diagnosed about 7 years ago, but it’s thought that I’ve had it for a good 30 years now. I’ve done aip, candida and FODMAP over the years, but right now I’m at a point where my gut just hurts all the time, with bloating and nausea. As usual, my bloodwork is peachy. I’m awaiting an ultra sound result to make sure there’s nothing more sinister than ‘just Fibro’. I’m still getting hungry, but nothing is really appealing and my stomach is just upset all the time. Even when I adhere to the diets . A lot of the foods on the diets also hurt my stomach, so I find myself restricting more and more, and then eating less and less. All this background is to say, not looking for diet advice so much as foods that you’ve found really soothing. I drink fennel tea with cannabis in it, which helps, but I’m wondering about what o can eat when all I want is toast.

Hello there have you been tested for h pylori?

Hello Marvin. Same here. I was always a size 6. I grew up to a size 16 in two years and can’t get this weight off no matter what I try. Never had a weight problem. I don’t eat a lot or poorly. I look six months pregnant some days my belly is so bloated. I had a ultra sound and had to have major surgery because I had nine huge fibroids and endometriosis removed. That was last summer. Still no weight has come off. I take Ginger supplements daily for my nausea. Some days I’m more bloated than others. I take two different probiotics. I’m more constipated daily that I take that MagO7 supplement so I go to the bathroom daily now. I get urinary tract infections often. Six months ago they said I had H Pylori in my urine culture they did and sent me on my way with another antibiotic. I know about H Pylori cause my friend had it which caused a stomach ulcer but I assumed my h pylori came from my butt area, wiping bad, not urinating after sex etc which is in a total different area than my stomach like my friend had so I didn’t see any relationship to me being so bloated and the weight gain.
Maxsmom do you recommend I get tested for it with a blood test not a urine test this time? How would h pylori be effecting me in anyway I describe my symptoms?

Hi Marvis.....................Ginger tincture works sometimes for nausea. I have had chronic nausea for many years, and I know that sometimes nothing will help, although the ginger tincture and medical cannabis have done the best for me.

Try experimenting in a very methodical way with your diet. For instance, go completely gluten free but otherwise eat what you want to. Give it at least a month to see if anything changes. If not, try going completely lactose free. And so on.

Make sure in the meantime that you are getting a balanced diet and complete nutrition because if you are not eating very much it is ore important than ever to make sure what you are eating gives your body enough nutrition and calories.

The other thing is: examine the times of day or places that you get nauseous. It is possible there is some psychological aspect to it. I know some of my nausea is linked to a certain activity. You might find some of yours is as well.

Have you tried working methodically with your diet? Often a food sensitivity is the culprit.

No, I didn't mean that. There is no one diet that helps everyone.
What I meant was methodically working through what you eat, eliminating various things in a careful fashion, in order to determine whether or not something you are eating is causing you problems.

You can read my advice for that in the post I made Advice for managing Fibromyalgia. Please read that.

Also, I am going to gently call you out on your saying "I am trying to eat better". Don't try. Just do it. It's your life we are talking about here so this is important.

First, cut out sugar and alcohol completely. Next, follow a methodical course of experimentation with other foods. Don't waver in this or let yourself "cheat". This isn't something silly like losing five pounds, that doesn't really matter. If you are in pain and/or nauseous and don't want to be, it is up to you to do your best to seriously try the things that will possibly help, and that will be ultimately very good for you even if it doesn't help with your immediate problem.

I am here to support you in this.

Or (dunno if you still know you are here ;-) ):
A great help to me was a radical elimination diet, starting with only 5-6 types of food. Loved having to eat 1kg of cheese a week :). Because if there's a lot of food intolerances everything else will take ages.
Knowing where I'm at now, I could also have started leaving out everything which "anyone knows" that irritates, e.g. meaning in my case onion/garlic-like, hot, sour (incl. fizz), warm. Plus everything sunkacola's said. Plus checking the adverse effects of any meds.
And: Have you had a GI-check? IBS?

thank you guys for the suggestions :)

Ok so this is out of left field but today at my PT appt she actually did visceral manipulation of all my organs to get them in better positioning and to release the fascia where it was tugging on my organs. I usually get a lot of digestive woes, especially upper digestion, but even though it's only been one day it feels like she was really able to release a lot of those issues for me. Anyway, I hope your results are helpful and you figure it out. I had no idea that she could manipulate my organs that way. She and I feel it's from my pregnancy where things got pushed into the wrong place and never went back right and that contributed to stomach issues and posture issues as well.

My osteopath did visceral manipulation, as well as cranosacrial too, helped OK. My acupressurist is concentrating more on scar tissue outside and in, that helped quite a bit too.

Yes, my PT has also done dryneedling and cupping on my scar tissue from old surgeries as well and that has also helped me quite a bit, too. The cupping process was pretty painful but the results were quite profound. All these layers of issues stacked up on each other are finally getting dealt with, at least for me.

What do you do with a messed up stomach?

Not sure there is much to do. i just suck it up and trying to go throu the day. any else has suggestions?
PS> i agree.. sometimes is depressing. my constant pain in my neck which translates to migraines and stomach nausea are the worst, beside the general body aches.
