Hi everyone,
I was recently diagnosed with fibro. I work in front of a computer for several hours a day and since I have blurry vision it has been very difficult to carry on with my activities. So I wonder if there's something that you can recommend me to reduce blurriness maybe some therapy, med, etc . I was taking pregabaline and duloxetine but they didn't work for me.
Thanks in advance

I strongly suggest seeing an ophthalmologist. This could be something that is treatable or it might be something serious you need to know about. You need your eyes, and shouldn't try to treat this on your own.

Hi Luis,

One of the many possible symptoms of Fibromyalgia is dry mucous membranes, which can result in dry eyes, irritation, and blurriness. I agree with Sunkacola that getting your eyes checked out is a good idea. That way, you'll be able to rule out the possibility that something else is going on, and get a recommendation or prescription for an eye treatment that can address the problem. If it is purely fibro related, then I imagine/hope that there are drops that could help. Systane drops we're mentioned in the forum not long ago, but I can't speak from personal experience! I hope you find relief soon 🤞

I hope your blurriness isn't caused by dry eyes. They are miserable. Keep us informed on what you find out.

Thanks for your messages, you make me feel I am not alone in this. In fact, I went to the ophthalmologist recently, and I took several eye examinations. Some of them even checked the eye in a microscopic level, or at least that was what doctor told me. I also got an NMI of my brain. After all those exams, the conclusion was that there is nothing wrong with my eyes. Those tests couldn't find any structural damage that can interfere with my vision. Doctor suggested that it might be a functional problem, but there is no test to verify that.
I hope I could reverse this because my blurry vision is giving me many problems with my job.
I think that probably other fibro patients had the same issue and they had succes fixing it. So, if you know somebody with the same history please let me know

Thanks for your help in advance :)

It doesn't look like they did a Schirmer test for dry eyes (blotting strips of paper under lid)?
Any other dryness (sicca) symptoms? (See my symptom list.)
Whether or not they are dry, maybe regular soft eye massage can help (I used soft gua sha with a jam lid for a time).
