newly diagnosed, questions

I wake up drenched in sweat my shirt and hair soaked. I’ve had fibromyalgia since 2015 though but this symptom is new like about 2 months or so.
Hi there, and welcome! 👋 -
Anything new, but definitely this, is something to get checked! e.g. bloods / hormones, endocrinologist, not "put down to fibro".
Other things might be air, synthetics, alcohol, spices, sports, stress, meds, low blood sugar, GERD, low sugar, apnea, infections,...
As my sleep is usually interrupted I regularly adjust my duvets and clothing, air the room, if that's in time.
If not, a quick 1' shower, warm, alternate or preferably cold does the trick as I can't sleep even if slightly overheated.
Overheating usually happens to me roughly in the middle of the night (maybe not earlier because I need to cold shower before sleep, if possible). At night, especially towards the morning it's actually normal to get colder and that improves sleep.
(4-5 pairs of socks for Raynaud's and praps a hot water bottle are independently necessary).

I second what Jay says above. The overheating at night being a new symptom, you need to go and see a doctor about it.
Best of luck!

jay, you are an amazing person-a riddle-solving wizard. your situation is 10 times harder than mine but you have found your way to some solutions. as soon as i start to get discouraged solving my own riddles, I will think of you :)

the self-determination aspect is wildly helpful and superbly missed when lacking. just getting a diagnosis empowered me to fight for better and if a diagnosis can do that, victories in managing some things will come (eventually)...

riddle-solving wizard
Nay nay - alas, alack: an olde wizard, a mage 🧙‍♂️ I be not in a 100 years...
but aye - these 1000 riddles awake all ye knightly courage & curiosity I can summon as long as I breathe...
990 be Legends of Olde, turned a pastime, a game to play by ear - after learning my instruments in my sleep.
But ye last 10 stay stuck deep in The Stone that denies all normal effort - or rather budges a bit, but maybe only to tempt me,
if a Moment comes, however, I'll be there ready & waiting faster than an eagle!
But if not I'll calmly wait for maybe a Tournament of Naught: my patience & acceptance will win every waiting game all the same.

And should I ever forget - moments do come...: Please remind me! 👐

how did i completely understand that?! 😂. That's amazing! Is it famous?

Hehe - I was wondering... did take a while to write... I doubt any of my output'll ever be famous...

1000 was meant a symbol, but roughly 5 solutions for >>100 symptoms/triggers... = >>500... (insomnia: >30 triggers)

I thought I replied to this but it looks like I didn't 😔. Probably because I come on here late at night. I did go through the questionnaire. I didn't meet the qualifications. I can't be trusted to identify health issues though. At my fibro eval the Dr looked at my chest and asked if it always looked like this with blotches of red. I said yes and she started laughing because it was allergies/inflammation but I thought it meant I had good circulation 😂

Well, you could of course entrust a helpful forum by sharing where you seem to fall short... ....... and....

If I didn't have checklists of my symptoms on my blog to help, I'd forget. Like just now didn't realize my sinuses are burning.

I cant pick so I will use both 😂 and 😒

that blog must be SUPER long- there's lots to remember! How do I find it?

Sorry about your sinuses. Totally relate to not even noticing stuff. I went into (slow) anaphylaxis a few times and didn't notice until someone else noticed 😬😂.

Are you the person that mentioned "my" GABA? I am really interested in learning about it but my searches are not real productive

Not sure if MCAS is something for you, basically all your "skins" (incl. gut & breathing) have allergy type reactions - a quick look might do.

Hmm... on 2nd thoughts: 99% flaring from supps, you say... OK: Have a look at "molderings humangenetik mcas questionnaire", that search should come up with "validated questionaire..." (or "mast cell activation questionnaire" is a similar one).
Just started rereading through this searching for some insights cuz im not real happy with my progress. I read through the stuff about MCAS again and it looks like if an antihistamine can resolve my symptoms I might have a better idea what's happenning...

Definitely! 2nd generation H1 antihistamine if like me you get zombified easily - I use(d) rupatadine.

I remember you saying this, but somehow your next posts slipped by me (me by? ah, dunno...).

Yep, approaching 900 daily posts now... (Via my profile.)

Hmm, we've probably gone into this somewhere else now? Yep, GABA is my mainstay. Best starting point is Trudy Scott's blog, e.g. her amino acid "questionnaire" = symptom list. Or my old posts or ask.

did anyone else avoid admitting to themself how bad things were? did anyone question if they were just lazy or exaggerating how they felt?
Re-visiting due to you re-visiting ;-) - hmm, or have I answered already, then I'll delete this...
My wife had to push me to the rheums cos I was getting so stiff and Achey.
There are moments every day when I doubt and sometimes ask or look to my wife for "reassurance".
Edit: I have answered already, but this answer is different, so I'll leave it be. Strange time jump feel now.
