completely wiped out...

pre-portioned meals are easy for myself, but not so easy for the partner... his level of "hungry" changes from one day to the next. I do try to make sure there are things for him to heat & eat if I am having a particularly bad day, tho.. be it leftovers, or something he likes from the freezer.. one of his favorites is a specific brand of frozen pizza, so we stock up when they are on sale.

the last few days i have been dealing with med withdrawal symptoms (mostly dizziness, but other things, too) so it has been kind of tough. just turning my head to one side (like to look at the dog) will send the room spinning.. brain fog has been pretty bad, too..
Thankfully i dont have to go anywhere for the next week or so... driving is probably not a good idea right now, lol

ugh... really want to go back to bed, but at the same time, being in bed hurts... so does being upright...
guess it is just going to be one of those days.

Yeah to both.
Whatever I do I have to twist-stretch. It's nice when I can sometimes sleep longer than 1-1.5 hour stints, but for my body the sleep breaks are actually better. That's after adjusting the hard mattress I need with a soft topper, a lambskin under tailbone / hips / thighs, hard cushion as backpod (in between) and a small pillow on each side. 2-3 minutes on my back every time I go back to bed, then twist-stretched in various ways to the sides, sometimes arched for a while. I don't count it, but actually I do several hours of stretches every night whilst dozing or sleeping.
What do you mean by upright? In my first year I spent most of my day lying on various pillows on a fairly soft couch, until I realized that I can't twist well/easily like that. Now most of the time I need to rest sitting on the floor with my back supported by the couch. Often even more support for my head, esp. when I've been in a posture too long without support.

And then 5 mins later your body tells you it needs something different, i feel your pain and frustration
yup.. sit for a few, then the body wants to lie down.. lie down for a short while, and it wants up again... sometimes cant win for losing.. 😒

and of course, still dealing with the woozy/dizzy feelings.. have almost stepped on the poor dog about 3 times so far today.. and i was trying very hard NOT to step on her... thank goodness she loves me. 🐶

I am so sorry you are struggling so much and have the added symptoms of coming off a medication, i hope the weaning process isnt too drawn out and you wont have those yucky unpleasant symtpoms anymore

awww, thank you @hope23 - I am hoping it doesn't last too much longer myself...
have actually considered taking a tiny dose to mitigate things just a little, but at the same time, I really dont want to.

did a bunch of reading this evening (took me a while, having to give the eyes a break periodically) and apparently most docs are instructing us to wean off way too fast. I was told to cut my dose in half for a week, then halve that again for a week before dropping it entirely - so stepping from 100mg to 50 for a week, then down to 25 for a week...
from the reading i did this evening, that is WAY too fast and probably why I am struggling with the withdrawal symptoms.
What should have happened was to cut the dose by 10-15% and stay at that level for at least a week, maybe two.. then cut that level by 10-15% for another couple of weeks... and so on... stretching it out longer, and smaller increments, but less likely to develop the withdrawals.

we shall see how things go over the weekend... if no better, i might just go the very small dose for a bit and see if it helps

That does seem like a very quick and savage wean!!!

I know that when i was coming off venlafaxine(which caused the blood pressure issue as well as causing vertigo symptoms) we dropped 25mg at a time down from 200mg. It was a long process but i shudder to think how savage it wouldve been if we'd halved and halved and stopped 😬

lol, anything that is not "lying down" - standing, sitting, etc
And then 5 mins later your body tells you it needs something different, i feel your pain and frustration
This is how I started. All the stretching and exercising generally (e.g. for my thigh muscles), plus twist-stretching regularly / all the time can now prolong it.
I forgot to add that the position sitting leant against the couch is better for twist-stretching my legs against my torso easiest and quickest. One foot (preferably right) cocked up under the other knee or thigh twists my backside and back and each slight move can make a lot of difference. Or twisting round to the couch with both legs cocked - right is best for me, but in both cases left is a quick alternative, with strain and relief.
For 'normal' sitting an adjustable swivel bar stool, otherwise I won't last long, even if I twist-stretch my legs to one side then the other on a normal chair. If I keep moving enough I can manage up to an hour.
Any visits mean lying down or twist-stretch-sitting every half hour, the more peace alone I have in those breaks the longer I can stay.
Recently I've started trying just short visits, esp. when late = 7 or 8 pm. Just 20 mins. When people are in a restaurant near our place. And only if I think it won't disturb my sleep too much at that time, usually 7 is deadline, 6 better.
Tonight I managed some longer sleep stints so am in more pain and will now have to keep my back exercises increased as well as even more twist-stretching plus cold-showering for relief....

rough night last night... tried to go to bed at my usual time (10pm), got up about 45 mins later - was just hurting too much.
ended up staying up until a little after 3am...
got back up this morning at about 8am...
Neck is really stiff and sore.. have a headache, especially behind the eyes (bright light/white pages are painful this morning - really would be nice to have a "dark mode" for this site - easier on the eyes)
low back/SI joint is really flaring this morning as well...

not exactly how I wanted to start a holiday weekend (labor day in the US) but oh well...

Just remember that you are not failing or losing at all. You are giving your body what it needs, moment by moment, and that is a great thing. It's not easy to be always listening and going with the flow of what your body asks for and if you are managing it you should be praising yourself for listening to your body and giving it what it needs.
