So flare up started last week of junee, still going, this week has just gone into over drive and now needing to use crutches as my left leg/side from the bottom of my ribs down is just agony, weight bearing is extremely painful and the leg gives out under me randomly, not the first time hence i own a set of crutches but just so frustrating cus then the added stress on the rest of your body from compensating then creates it own additional issues 😔😔😔

Hi hope23, sorry to hear about this flare. Even more sorry you end up on crutches because of it.
I had a bad flare last December and spent 6 weeks on crutches, just cause my knee didnt want to be nice.
I feel for you and hope you can get on top of it soon. Your so right, the extra limping and trying to favour the troubled to save a bit of extra pain doubles our normal pain . Take care.

For me its the hip/pelvis/si region that does me in, mine is its excruciating to weight bear on that leg and even the action of moving it when on the crutches with no weight on it is extremely painful, but holding it off the ground is just as bad, unfortunately the leg also will give out under me randomly like I'll be ok one minute on it and the next its like theres no one home in the leg, muscles wont do anything, im very lucky that i know the warning signs and am usually already on crutches before it escalates to that point, im definitely quicker to bust out the crutches than i have been in the past purely because i recognise the early signs and so try to get on top of it before it spirals further, its also really hard like on two crutches your extremely limited on what you can do but only using one increases the stress on the rest of my body because its unbalanced and over compensating. Last Tuesday i had hoped id caught it soon enough that id be ok on one, my intercostal muscles in my ribs on the other side certainly let me know id been wrong and shouldve gone for the two straight off.

Im pretty accepting of the fact that this is the way things are for me and absolutely theres new research happening and new options becoming available but at the moment this is how it is, but just like all of us we have our limits and at this point i actually just need a break from the pain even if thats only for a few hours, im just beyond empty on a number of levels and just need some respite

The other aspect is that all the muscles in that leg/side go into a constant cramp spasm state when my flare ups get to this point
