for me, my fibro is more related to muscles, tendons and ligaments - ultra sore and sensitive to touch...
yea, i find as well that the smallest thing(for me its usually not quite judging going through door frames) and i scrape my arm and its so outrageously painful, and its not like ouch that hurts and its gone it can drop me to the floor and the topical pain of it can last as long as 30 to 45mins.
Yea the injections into the hip bursar sack, mine are also in the greater trochanter are savage, its the choice of which one of these is going to hurt the most cus your going to have to lay on one of them after injections in order to get the other side done, definitely not my idea of fun or enjoyable.

if you needed to be that immobile surely a GA wouldve been better and less traumatic as well, especially if they didnt give the anaesthetic long enough to work.
yeah, GA is not an option really.. conscious sedation is the best that can be had.. they need you awake enough to know if they hit something wrong... and trust me.. you know! first time I had the lumbar injections, he hit something and I about jumped out of my skin.. took a couple of minutes to calm down enough to proceed.

on the hips, yeah, I get it.. i am a side sleeper, cant lay on my back or my stomach to sleep.. and when the hips are being painful it is toss & turn all night, which means no real sleep, either.. UGH.
I had one done at a time.. left one first cause that is the side i sleep on the most.. then had right one done later, along with the right SI injection. so far they have been doing ok.. I get occasional flareups but not too bad.. not bad enough yet to need more shots anyway..

I am also a side sleeper or a tummy sleeper although i sometimes manage a happy medium with a pillow behind me so i half way between side and back. Tummy is not an option as my back pain the next day is so not worth it. Ive been pushing to get my SIs done but they wont do them without being guided by ct scan, so gotta go through the referral process etc to get it done through the hospital, im still pushing!!

MRIs do me in, lying on that table in the one spot, my last one was 1 hour 45mins was excruciating took 10 minutes and two nurses to just get me off the table and my mum(i was 26 at the last one, now 28) actually had to dress me after and put in a wheel chair to get out of the hospital. Was horrendous, and one of my first signs my pain levels are creeping up beyond what i can breath through and deal with is i become fidgety in that i will tap my toes or flex and release my ankle, all the while theyre telling you to lay still 🤦‍♀️ makes me want to say lets swap bodies and see how well you go at lying still in that state
Arghh, 1 hour 45 mins ⁉️ - That hurts just thinking of it!

OT: I must say my acupressure sessions had got to that kind of length, but at least I could move a bit. But apart from her not helping me any more (probably the reason for her prolonging, in the hope she could) the sessions were getting quite an ordeal, and then the jab-reactions made me so touch sensitive that I could easily say I need to stop. And all the better for it, after 1.5y and then learning self-acupressure which was much more effective for the remainder.

Yip, they were scanning my head and entire spine, was not a pleasant experience, and with symptoms im having at the moment in my left leg my doc is wanting to talk to neurology again around Multiple Sclerosis. My sister has it and her symptoms onset at a similar age to when i became sick so its something they monitor when new or worse symptoms make an appearance. Im hoping im not going to have to go in for another but if i had to take a guess id say they may want an updated one. Plus CT if they agree to do the cortisone injections in my SI joints

since the procedure Monday, the neck has felt a bit sore (to be expected, really) and bruised.. turns out, there is actually one injection site (out of 6) that IS actually visibly bruised.. what the heck?

That looks painful cookie, must be very uncomfortable. I hope that you can manage at least some sleep. An old whiplash injury has had a big impact on me so my heart goes out to you.

funny you should mention whiplash.. i have a sneaking suspicion that the arthritis problem is a result of multiple "mild" cases of whiplash over the years.. the type that, yeah, the neck is stiff & a bit sore, but not really bad enough to go get checked out when young and "invincible" (ie: dumb)... 🤦‍♀️ I definitely know better now...

Other than being a bit sore to touch when trying to do a bit of self massage, it isn't that bad, but yeah.. not real happy about it.

just a short "in general" update post...
had my follow up appt from the ER visit.. mostly a wasted trip, really, nothing needed doing, the worst of the pain is under control at the moment.. could have handled it over the phone, really.. but oh well...
I did get the latest Covid booster shot - the combined one, so it was not a completely wasted trip. So far, just generally feel achy and tired.. pretty much the same as with the others.. knock on wood it stays that way. Having a bowl of Chicken soup for dinner, just in case, LOL

also started on the low dose N on Oct 16 - 2 weeks at 1.5mg.. then 2 weeks at 3mg.. if things are going ok, no issues, when I call for the next month's refill, they will bring it up to 4.5mg, which is supposed to be the optimal dose.

Still a bit early to say for sure one way or the other if it is helping... but I will say this... I have actually felt like doing something recently.. be it just cleaning the bathroom, or dishes, or whatever.. normally i would have to kind of force myself to go do these things..

And something else I have not done in a very, VERY long time... fired up the tunes and just let things play.. even sang along with a few...

still have 5 more days till my appt with physical medicine to discuss the neck problems and what to do about them..
yesterday was a bad day with that.. lots of pain & muscle tension in the neck, which in turn made the right shoulder hurt worse as well. 😔

today, the right ankle is being difficult.. a few days ago it was the knees... first the right one, then the next day, the left one... argh..
this random body parts hurting changing everyday is for the birds. Never know what is going to hurt most next....

can i just go back to bed, please?

but no, cant do that.. need to go get some groceries so we have food to eat. Not really in the mood, but today is the last day the weather is going to be even halfway decent.. temps will be dropping out overnight and getting rather cold.. as in freezing point temps for highs.. today is supposed to be in the mid 60s F but chance of rain later, so... best to get it over with, i guess.

It's difficult at meal times when you are so worn down. We just want something simple and to get it out of the way. The cold weather doesn't help, it's high winds and heavy rain here in North Wales. Hopefully your appointment will be a helpful one.

Ahh, you live in places too cold for me!
guessing you live in the south somewhere.. gets too hot & muggy for me down there..
lived in Georgia for a couple of years.. was mostly ok, but the summers.. whoo.. too hot

we had the high winds a couple days ago, and rain, occasionally heavy, today.. but at least it is reasonably warm today, so that helps..

I would love to visit your part of the world, Badger.. I am a fan of the TV show "Escape to the Country" (i watch it on youtube) and love it when they have an episode in Wales. :)

And yeah, it can be difficult when one does not feel well.. or is hurting extra on a given day.. I tend to keep things as simple as I can, but I will admit to resorting to pre-made meals on occasion.. or cheats, like the Birdseye steamers rice & veggies.. no preservatives or extras, just simply rice and veggies - they are great for putting together a quick meal.. saves a lot of prep time & effort. pop a bag in the microwave and it is ready to serve as a side, or to add things to for a quick stir fry or whatever.

got the grocery shopping done (and a little exercise to boot), in the house and put away for the most part before taking a break.. still have a few dry goods to put away, but they can wait for now... ankle only bit me a couple of times while in the store shopping.
