    Heavy legs tip

I read somewhere that you should elevate your legs 15 minutes a day. It takes pressure off your heart, giving it a much needed break. Anyway what I do is lie down and hold my legs straight up. Putts nag an exercise band over my feet helps hold them up. Also you can lie on floor next to door...

Not sure if I have fibro but feel like it is...

Abt 10 years ago mine started. Episodes of flu like symptoms the I would be fine for abt 2 1/2 wks. Then the cycle repeated. Let me say I never slept, had IBS and depression. I am controlling depression with meds. The IBS seems to rarely flare up. I think diet changes helped a lot. Now that I...

I just started gabapentine last week. I have not noticed much, maybe a little swelling in fingers/feet. However, I am sleeping better and pain has abated to the point I feel normal. I am also taking Naproxen twice a day. What kind of side effects did u experience with gabapentine?

Diagnosed with fm after age 60

The ones I got are pretty much like my hair. The first words out of my husbands mouth were "I can't believe how young look" so it really makes me feel good. I will never sit for hours in pain getting my hair colored. I will just shampoo it and let my hairdresser trim it. Wish I had bought wigs...

Diagnosed with fm after age 60

Another thing I did was buy a wig. It is close to my normal hair. I no longer have to endure having my hair shampooed by someone. Being tender headed made it torture. Now if I go out, I just throw on the wig. It has taken a lot of stress out of my like. No more standing and styling. No more...

    Neurologist

Has anyone seen a neurologist? The more I research it appears overactive nerves are my issue. I have IBS which used to be called a nervous stomach. I did try a muscle relaxer for a couple of nights. Helped a little. I am scheduled to see another rheumatologist soon.

Pain in upper body ribs spine shoulder blades arms

I sometimes stretch while in a hot bath or shower. Just arms over head reaching for the ceiling is good for entire body. The muscles are relaxed and easier to push a little bit. I, too, find myself hunched over my iPad, so I have learned you cannot stay in one position. Got to change it up.

    Need help

Exercise even in small bits can help. There are lots of good tips on this forum to help. I am sure you are overwhelmed but try to relax as your body needs that. Sleep, not just lying down, is an absolute must. I worked for 40 years and would feel guilty if I was not up doing something. Not now...

Taking back control- a new plan for managing my fibro

I like your attitude. I battled cancer 20 years ago and I believe staying positive helped my body heal. I am hoping it helps now with the painful days. I research the Internet for new clues everyday.
