    hand check

<<Glad to hear you will see a neuro soon, I think that's a wonderful idea and I hope you get answers so soon. Btw, how are your headaches like?>> I am headed to a neurologist in about 3 weeks, soonest appointment. My headaches are pretty frequent mixed with migraines. I don't have pain in a...

Going to Mayo Clinic in less than a week!

Links, when you have time I would love to hear about the rest of your weeklong visit to Mayo. Would you consider starting a new thread for your update? It would be easier to find I think. I'm glad to hear that you are feeling better. I'm headed to the Mayo in Scottsdale, AZ in less than 3...

    hand check

Thanks Trellum, ironically my Chiro started asking me about headaches and that led to several other questions and today he gave me a referral to a neuro that he likes. So, hopefully tomorrow I can get an appointment set up with the neurologist. I agree that my doctors have been totally...

    Can you tell the difference?

I've had fribro and I've had the flu and I think that if you had the flu you would know it. The thing with the flu is that it goes away and usually pretty quickly like within 48 hours, well at least the feeling so bad you think you're going to die goes away pretty quickly.

    hand check

Trellum, do you know if a person can just decide to see a neurologist without a doctor's referral? I ask because I've seen several doctors and have headaches and hand numbness and nobody has suggested that I see a neurologist. Just wondering...

    hand check

Wow. I just typed a long response and it disappeared. Yes, I do have the hand pain you describe. I had the nerve conduction test too and don't have carpal tunnel.

Should I get a softer mattress?

Getting a softer mattress didn't help me. I have a sleep number that moves up and down so I can sit in bed and read or elevate my feet while sleeping. I do love the moving feature for convenience but I don't recommend the sleep number overall. especially for the price If I was still in the...

    scared to tell my Doctor

My mother-in-law got diagnosed with dementia and would get lost if she left her neighborhood and they didn't take her driver's license. I think they should have but they just told her to stop driving but I don't think she could remember that. She drove off the road and into a snowy ditch and...

Will you please describe your morning stiffness?

Thank you for responding so quickly. I do have that sore feet feeling when I get up in the morning and my first 100 steps are super painful until my feet realize it's time to get up and go. I had my first PT appointment today. My doctor sent me for aqua therapy and I hope it helps but I don't...

Will you please describe your morning stiffness?

I get asked by doctors if I have morning stiffness and I tell them that I don't, then I get funny looks. And I wonder if I don't really have fibro because I don't have morning stiffness. But perhaps I don't understand what morning stiffness means. Would you guys be so kind as to describe what...

Is Satisfying Sex Possible With Fibro?

Wow, this is a sad thread to read through but it would appear we're all in the same boat. I'm 46 and also have gone through the total lack of libido and dryness. My GYN is a superhero for me and my husband of 15 years. DR ran all kinds of blood tests to check my hormone levels and I had zero...

    Am I crazy!?!?

Wow Trellum, that is the pits! I feel like the doctors I see can't or won't do anything for me but send me for useless tests or refer me to other doctors. I wasn't aware that CT scans were so bad for you. I had one of my aortas in my whole body last week. (and all for naught too as the...

    Doctors!

Doctors! Ugh! I guess I need advice on how to find one of these wonderful doctors who are sympathetic and understand fibro. I live in a huge metropolitan area and should be able to find a fibro doc here. Today I saw my pain clinic doc - he's very young (looks to be about 20) anyway, he said...

    Nightmares?

I seem to be super susceptible to nightmares too. Normally if I sleep even lightly I dream. Things that set me of are melatonin, valerian and other natural sleep aids. When I tried lyrica the nightmares were bad at first. But even without obvious stimuli I have the occasional nightmare...

Extreme pain in hands & feet?

Thanks for the responses guys. I will look into your suggestions. I used to be a frequent user of Epson salts before I became so sensitive to heat or warmth. I had my eyes checked today because of the frequent headaches/migraines and light sensitivity and it turns out I have better than 20/20...
