@CDHR I don't have support from my family either. My mom passed away in February and was the one person who kept me sane, but she still didn't understand my ailments. My whole family thinks I am a hypochondriac. They tell me to "snap out of it" which drives me nuts. Depression isn't something...
@Auriel I just want to sleep all the time and not go to work. Between the depression and pain, I just want to be curled up in bed and sleep. I don't want to go anywhere or do anything.
@Shy1shy1 From everything I have read, it seems very plausible that I could have fibro. Everything else has been ruled out. The last rheumatologist I went to was 6 years ago and she had the personality of a wet mop. She used the tender point method to determine that I did NOT have fibro, but I...
@Shy1shy1 The decreased sensation is constant. It started with my right ankle then moved up my leg. No prior warning--just decreased sensation that has been there for about 10 years. I don't think I have lost any smell or taste. I am thinking it is fibromyalgia, but it is hard to get a...
@Shy1shy1 I don't know how to private message either, but I am pretty much an open book. The numbness started about 9 or 10 years ago. I was shaving my legs and noticed that I couldn't feel it on my ankle like I did everywhere else. It was pretty scary. I went to the dr and nothing was found...
@Auriel I am not sure why, but this site hasn't been notifying me that I had messages. I've had a crazy week, so probably wouldn't have been here much anyway. Wednesday night I had a really bad night and had some weird sh+t going on and ended up calling in Thurs and Fri. I went to the dr. Friday...
@Auriel Hey! How are you doing today? I was able to do some housework today and even a little yardwork. I had wanted to do more yardwork, but it started raining. I am pretty whooped so it's probably just as well. Still have a ton of stuff to do inside, but I have to pace myself.
@Jemima Yes, the numbness never goes away. It is always present and has been for approximately 10 years. I have vestibular migraines also (or maybe it's fibro?), so now on top of the numbness, I also have tingling in most of my body. It bothers me the most in my legs though.
@Auriel Hey! I'm around. I just have no motivation today. Very tired. I think I am going to go back to bed. Why are you looking for males with fibro? How are you feeling today?
@sunkacola Yes, the rheumatologist who barely glanced at me, pushed on a few spots, then started typing without ever looking up at me said I didn't meet the criteria for fibro. She then said I had myofascial pain syndrome. I did some research and it is very similar to fibro and states it can...
@Auriel Hi! I am ok. Just feel like crap. First day I have been to work in a week and a half, but having side effects from meds making me loopy/tired. It's the 4 month anniversary of my mom's death today so there's that added in. I just want to go home and go to bed. How are you doing?
@squaregirl Check with the neurologist to see if you have vestibular migraines. I have been diagnosed with that and have a lot of the same things you mentioned. Migraine with aura is something that can go along with that diagnosis, but like fibro, it is hard to diagnose (usually). My neuro...
