    Savella

For Savella information, I suggest you look at one of the online PDR's (Physician Desk Reference). You can usually find out about any medication's side effects by looking through one of them. I use shows Savella is a Serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Basically, an antidepressant...

    Alone at work... and exhausted!

You can try drinking water and getting up to walk around, but you might also consider taking a B complex vitamin supplement. Don't megadose, just take one about half way through your work shift. I found that B complex vitamins can help with fatigue. Also, try adding a few walnuts to your diet!

    Intimidated by Lyrica

I believe that anything that helps, helps. If your doctor felt Lyrica or any medication appropriate, you can set aside your anxiety and focus on rebuilding your life, based on how well you feel. If the time comes when you must stop taking any medication, your doctor should wean you off and/or...

More benefits from medical mary jane! Check it out

You do not actually add plant material to foods, but you can. You cook the plant material in a pan with water and oil or butter, then use the oil or butter in the dish you are making. You can make salad dressings with infused oils, and brownies with infused butter (cannabutter). You can also...

    light sensitivity

Our bodies are always changing. We spend years using our hands, then one day we wake up with osteoarthritis, we spend years eating our favorite foods only to wake up at 50 and find ourselves allergic to that favorite food. I, too, used computers for years and developed eyestrain issues after 40.

    Getting Mom on board

I understand your wanting to help your mother. As much as you would like to help, remember that this is her condition. She may not have control over much of her life, right now, as her issues multiply with her fibromyalgia, so remember that you have offered her some options, and that is all...

    Uncomfortable skin/cold sweats

Your itchy skin sounds like your capillaries opening up, under your skin. I experience the same feelings when going from a warm environment to a cooler environment, and vice versa. Hydrocodone can also give you the itches when taking it several times a day.

    I'm in the dog house!

I understand your dilemma, completely! I must say, your husband should feel very lucky to have you. In your shoes, the puppy would not have been allowed in my house and, if my husband had uttered the "its my dog" statement, his dog would have had to either go with him to work, or his dog...

    light sensitivity

I have experienced the same issues with my eyes. It is the result of reading text on the computer, AKA eyestrain. There are a few things you can do to ease the stress on your eyes. You can change the way webpages present on your screen by changing the settings in your browser. You can also...

    Coping with newly diagnosed fibromyalgia

Re: Newbie I suggest you talk with your doctor, first. I say this because you want any and all treatments recorded in your medical file so that, should you have to take the pain medications you can currently avoid, there is a record of what you have already tried, and what the results were...

She's sick of hearing about it

I can understand your mother's reaction. She probably spent years with her pain, trying to get doctors to take her seriously then fighting for adequate pain management, then hearing from people who equate their circumstances with hers but manage their condition with exercise and meditation. It...

    Has anyone tried this suggestion.

IT would be wonderful if natural treatments worked for everyone, but natural remedies can prolong the agony, for many. Pain is complex and fibromyalgia has yet to be taken with the same serious attitudes that other painful conditions are. There are still doctors who "creep up" on treating...

    Blue Hands?

Do you notice the color change while you are in the middle of a flare up? If so, it might be your veins contracting, which happens to me when I'm dealing with a flare. Also, try to notice what the weather is when you notice the changes in your hands and fingertips. People usually think of heat...

Family and Friends that don't understand

Insensitive advice seems to be one of the symptoms friends and family manifest when confronted with conditions, in others, they find either baffling or inconvenient. I have noticed that well meaning, friendly advice can turn to unreasonable demands and eventually a belief that there is no actual...

    Let's talk about pain

IT sounds like the shoes you wore while walking might have been inadequate. I've noticed that I got the same types of pain if I wear shoes that do not cushion my feet against hard surfaces. The pain lodges in my hips and lower back, at first, then starts creating other problems along the pain's...
