    Hip pain

I do have hip pain, but it's no so much like what you're talking about. When I say hip, I mean the joint where my leg connects to my hip. I seem to have more of a problem with it hurting when I lay up against something. Like when I lay in bed? That is painful, and it's an irritant. The pressure...

    Fibro pain or not?

It's possible. I have arthritis in the back, which causes narrowing of the spine, which causes sciatica. Yes, sciatica is pretty awful. It's a different pain, too. I've noticed that Fibro tends to be more of a dull or throbbing pain. I find sciatica to be more searing. Both are equally obnoxious.

    Fibro pain or not?

I do, but it's hard to say whether it's fibro or something else. I do have arthritis in my back, and that can cause many of those symptoms as well. I can tell you the one tell tale sign of a fibro flare with me is my knees hurt, burn, or are generally irritated. No lie, I got a pair of skinny...

    Scared to start Cymbalta

I love Cymbalta for fibro pain. Arguably, there are other meds that would take away all the pain, but I'd pay a price for it. For instance, I took Lyrica for fibro as well, but it made me nearly comatose. I couldn't even think straight when I was on it. Cymbalta allowed me to get a grasp on my...

    What doctor diagnosed you

My primary doctor, who was a DO (Doctor of osteopathic medicine), initially diagnosed me. I asked for a second opinion, and a rheumatologist verified it. I insisted on a second opinion.

Do you have to take Lyrica forever

I actually weaned myself off of Lyrica. This isn't something I would suggest for most, I was a Pharmacy Technician, so I knew how to do it correctly. If I missed more than one dose I paid for it. I had major withdrawals and got very sick. I don't know if that was just me or not. I don't think...

    Fibro, Mental Illness, and Youth

I'm so sorry to hear that you're having to deal with this. I would probably feel the same way, you've lost a huge support system. Hopefully, things will get better for you as time progresses. This recent loss of your physical therapist is all very new to you. It's so frustrating to deal with...

    Body coordination

I had this problem initially, yes. To be honest, I'm not sure if it was fibro, or a product of the meds I was on. I can tell you that Lyrica made me act like a drunk, both mentally and physically. It just made me flat out stupid. What kind of work out are you doing? Maybe you need to do...

    back pain

Yes, indeed I do! With me, it's not only fibro. I have spondylosis and stenosis in my lower spine. That means I have arthritis in my back, and narrowing of my spinal column. So, I have the pain of the fibro, plus the additional pain of that. It's hard for me to move in the mornings, and my back...

    New, and Ow.

Welcome to the forum! I'm sad that you have to be here, but glad that you found us. I'm hoping you'll get the support you need, here. I absolutely think fibro is related to other autoimmune issues. On my dad's side of the family, literally every daughter of his siblings has an autoimmune...

    New tothe Forum

Hi, and welcome! I'm sorry to hear you're struggling! When I was first started my journey with fibro, I found that deep tissue massage was very helpful. It was probably the single biggest thing to help me with pain. Some medications certainly helped, but physical therapy, and deep tissue massage...

    Migraine Season

I don't know that I really have a season, per se. I just seem to get them when I get them. I will say that the change in temperature wipes me out and causes me a great deal of pain. My sleep patterns are never good anyway, so daylight savings doesn't really bother me that much.

    Vent about new pain :(

Hey, I just saw all these replies.. thanks guys! I have not got back in yet. To add insult to injury...our car broke down! It should be fixed this week, and then I'm going to try and set something up before Christmas. I don't really have anyone that could watch her besides mom and my fiance...

    confusion with words

I get a sort of brain fog, if that's what you mean. It usually happens when I'm really tired. I can't seem to put my thoughts together all that well. Sometimes I'll forget how to spell words, or I'll have a word right there, but I can't pull it out of my brain. Very annoying and troublesome when...

    Newly diagnosed and overwhelmed

It can get easier, yes. I can tell you that my fibro was a lot worse when I first developed it, as opposed to now. That being said, make sure you stick with your changes, and don't overwhelm your body. I know this is a hard thing to do, but in the long run it prevents relapse. Take care of you...
