    Effexor for fibromyalgia

I took Effexor for years, not for fibro, but for generalized anxiety. I know everyone’s experience is different, but I had a very hard time coming off it. I had to wean off very, very slowly; the process took about a year and a half. Just wanted you to know my experience if you decide to take...

What's the word on medical marijuana?

I have a prescription for it; I am lucky to live in a place where it is legal. I either use it in an oil tincture form or as an edible. I don't get much pain relief from it. However, I suffer from severe nausea, & it is wonderful for that. Also, I have great success with the balm. I use it on...

Yes I have IBS. My rheumatologist told me that about 90% of his chronic fatigue/fibro patients also have IBS &/or SIBO. I've had IBS for 35 yrs, while having fibro for about 3. My symptoms include alternating diarrhea & constipation, nausea, cramping. Please don't let your symptoms go untreated...

    How to fill the days

I suggest that you look for opportunities that have an interest/meaning for you, & then look online for volunteer activities to match. I've heard of so many things that can be done at home, eg writing letters to military personnel, helping those who are sight-impaired read info using their...

    How to fill the days

I walk & do yoga, as I can. I also read a lot. For me, I have found some volunteer activities I can do on the computer. There are no deadlines for these & I just like thinking I'm providing some type of service for others.

You might want to research SIBO (small intestinal bacteria overgrowth). I've struggled with IBS for over 30 years. My rheumy thinks I also have Sibo. I've read that as many as 85% of people diagnosed with IBS also have Sibo. Good luck!

Would complete bed rest help flare?

Hi. I'm experiencing a flare that has lasted several weeks. I've cut back my activity level, & being more strict about pacing. But even when I'm sitting, I'm working on projects, e.g. online Christmas shopping, family history research, editing, etc. If I blocked off an entire day of bed rest...

Medicinal Marijuana....Anyone tried this for pain relief?

Yes, I use cannabis for several symptoms. I use the edibles every day; I struggle with nausea, & it helps so much. I have a CBD balm I use for trigger point pain. Finally, I use a sublingual oil at night to help me sleep. I have had a very positive experience with all of these.

    Intro to me!

Hello-I'm new to this forum. I discovered it while researching fibro and medical marijuana. In December of 2012, I was admitted to the hospital with acute colitis. After I was discharged, I just could not recover. I felt like I had the flu and could not walk across my house. My GP assured me...
