Whodat83. The pain you are describing is also something I get often with fibro. The pain from alcohol is down the side of my neck under my ears.I asked the neurologist who diagnosed me and he said that it was likely down to fibro as it started at the same time as the other fibro problems. That's...
Unfortunately it's very easy to put any pain or discomfort down to fibro. I know that I am guilty of doing this. My husband tells me I should get it checked out but with all the difficulties getting a diagnosis a: I've had enough, b: I feel guilty that I'm taking the dr's time and c: I'm sure...
If you can get access to a neurologist they might be able to help. I eventually went private to get an appointment with a neurologist ( who also works for the NHS but there was a long waiting list) who diagnosed my fibromyalgia. I understand that private is probably not an option for you but it...
I have the symptoms you describe. The stabbing can just come out of the blue and only last for a couple of seconds but is very painful. What is Sjogren's?
Hi all. Firstly I should say that I live in the UK where FM isn't classed as a disability. Recently I saw a car in a disabled parking space with had a sticker on it saying " not all disabilities are obvious - I suffer with fibromyalgia" or something along those lines. I wondered if any of you...
Yes, neck and shoulders are constantly tight and painful. Gentle stretches and gentle massage can help but I find that it's only temporary. I'm still looking for a solution - I guess it's just one of those fibro things! Stay positive. You're not alone.
I can sympathise. I have tried to get out once a day to go for a walk. Sometimes it's not very far but at least I feel that I have made the effort which helps me to feel more positive about myself.
Don't worry, you're not alone. This happens a lot to me. I've just ordered a t shirt that says "I'm not drunk, I have fibromyalgia"! It can be disconcerting but once you accept that it's going to happen it's easier to deal with.
Yes I've had a couple of falls. The first one scared me as I didn't realise it was the fibro that caused it but now I know I am careful when I have brain fog. The second time I had my 9 week old grand daughter in my arms. Fortunately she was fine. I haven't told my hubby as I feel he has enough...
I totally sympathise with you. I have tried exercise but afterwards I feel even more tired than usual. I'm trying to find an exercise that helps but doesn't tire me or make the pain worse. I have been told that tai chi is good but I am still looking for a daytime class as evenings are a no go...
Yes, it's what I call a "snakey skin" feeling like you get when you have flu. I find massage helps. It is painful and sensitive to start with but if you persevere I have found it to be beneficial. I've even thought about finding a proper massage course for my hubby so that he can give me a massage,
