How old are you, how long have you been a fibro warrior?

I am 54, but have struggled for at least 30 years. I was just diagnosed.

    At a Loss

Hi Diamond! I am a registered nurse and tried everything before Cymbalta. I had 30 years of severe pain. Back, neck, shoulders, jaw, pelvic joints. I went on it for severe depression and felt relief from my symptoms. Not total, but with massage, chiropractic, exercise and ice, I am much better...

    At a Loss

So sorry you are having a tough time Eric. I too have suffered severe depression. Cymbalta has helped my depression and my pain. I do still have pain, but it is not incapacitating. Hope you find the right help for you.

    New to forum. Fibro sucks.

Hi! So sorry you don't have a supportive PCP. Is there any way you could find a new one? I was so fortunate that mine actually suggested it and sent me to a rheumatologist who specializes in fibromyalgia. I do take Cymbalta as my depression was grave. It did help with my symptoms. Clearly, that...

    Recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia

Hi Katejo. Newly diagnosed as well. I do take Cymbalta for the pain and the depression. I have also started going for light massage as too deep makes the pain more intense. I am finding this group very supportive and helpful. Believe it or not I find ice packs make the pain less intense. You...

I went to my doctor and she is sending me for a sleep study and an EMG. Today, I am so tired, I haven't brushed my teeth yet. Better days ahead I hope. Thanks for your support.

    Newly Diagnosed

Hi yes, I avoid sugar and alcohol. I think numb feet is a sign of fibro. I am a nurse so am on my feet a lot too. Thank you very much for the encouragement. I went to a party last night and divulged my diagnosis and was told "at least it's only that". It hurts because you don't feel validated.

    Newly Diagnosed

Marie, I have been on Cymbalta for 5 years for depression and my symptoms got some better after that. My diet is good. I am taking iron, D3, Omega, Calcium. My main concern is my numb feet. I am pre-diabetic, so not sure what is what? Thank you for checking in with me. I find I get frustrated...

    Newly Diagnosed

I was diagnosed a week ago, but have had symptoms going back 30 years. My rheumatologist didn't give me much guidance. I am already on Cymbalta, try to exercise daily, go for chiro and massages. I heard B12 injections can be helpful. Anything else I can do.
