    Surprised

Yes. I have a specialist, but I meant a different specialist who may be more suitable to nerve damage and helping to ease it if it is nerve damage. Being referred back to physio for example, or a neurologist.

    Surprised

Thanks. I'll be mentioning my shoulders next time I see my regular GP. Get him to look at it and send me to a specialist if need be.

    What, me smoke?

I have never heard that smoking can make fibro worse. Cmetryme, no, I don't cough from smoking. I can understand that coughing can make you feel worse, but let's face it - many things make us feel worse. And being told that the stress would literally kill me if I quit is much more of a scare...

    Atrophy Question

Try not to stress out over it, since that will not make you feel any better. Unfortunately my pain is not something I can recover from, but thankyou for the kind words. :)

    What, me smoke?

I'm a smoker and smoke more that you. I've been told that the stress from trying to quit would be more harmful to me! Who wants to live forever anyway? The way I see it, I enjoy it, it gives me stress relief, and I cannot actually imagine having to cope with my illness through to a ripe old age...

    Atrophy Question

I'm far from a doctor, but I would say that starting with one pain or a few pains and then getting worse or suffering more pains is pretty typical of Fibro. It is for me anyway. I started with just painful and swollen knees, and now I have bad knees, hips, lower back, shoulders/upper back...

    Fibro worse after diagnosed?

Actually, a thought that comes to mind after Tharper mentioned the humidity. Perhaps part of the problem is that the winter and colder, more miserable weather/low pressure has contributed it seeming dramitacally worse so quickly. Although I live in the UK where the weather is always changing. I...

    Fibro worse after diagnosed?

Hi Shallenb! Hi, Benny. I for one certainly welcome you here. But I am new here myself. Yeah, I just read something Benny posted in another thread, as well as what you said, and it sounds like how my ex partner was when he was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritus. He was in a job that required...

    Surprised

True, Benny. Guess you have to just accept and move on. I'm sorry your mother has dementia. I hope it is not very severe yet. My great grandmother had that (my family is kinda young, I guess) and I was having to look after her from when I was around 10 through to 15 (when we finally got a carer...

    Surprised

If you search "The Spoon Theory" into google it should be the first result. Definitely worth a read, though is kinda long. Basically is a woman's story of how she managed to successfuly explain what having chronic pain is like for her to her friend. But yeah, my energy, or 'spoons', are...

1sweed, thankyou very much for your reply. I didn't mean it to sound like I was being nasty about it. Words on paper (or screen) and irritability with pain and other things don't combine well though, unfortunately. I shall keep all you have said in mind and thank you again. x

Sorry to be such a pain in the ass, but I recently tried to upload two new posts with links in them that were unapproved by moderators. I read the PM and know it is because of the links, but unfortunately, I cannot seem to PM back, so I will have to put it here instead. :| I read the forum...

I need help to find treatment for my metal problem

Please take care before following advice in the above article, as it may make you worse. It is very difficult to say.. A static shock should only happen when you are actually in contact with something. Does this only happen to you when you touch something or just by being near something? Your...
