    Does any particular food help?

I was wondering if anyone has found any particular food or foods that seem to help your fibromyalgia symptoms. I can't pinpoint one food, but I have noticed something over the past few years. When I eat a more healthy diet with fruit/vegetables, lean meats, and go low on the bad fats and...

    Do vitamins help you

One supplement I take that no one has mentioned is acetyl l-carnitine. My doctor recommended it. It helps with my brain fog and fatigue. It is an amino acid that your body produces naturally. It helps the body produce energy.

how many of you use pain meds?

I have been using generic Flexeril for muscle pain at night for quite a few years now. I have tried weaning off of it because the grogginess from taking it continues through the morning for me. If I'm not in a lot of pain when I go to bed, I can cut the pill in half and be okay. When I try to...

    Fibromayalga or Sciatica?

I agree that you should ask your doctor to be sure, but I think sciatica is a good possibility from what you describe. My ob/gyn diagnosed me with sciatica at the end of one of my pregnancies. I had pain that started in the lower back and shot down my buttocks all the way to my calf. What you...

    hand pain anyone?

Seeing an orthopedic doctor would probably be a good idea. He/she could help you determine whether you have carpal tunnel syndrome or not. I was diagnosed 17 years ago with carpal tunnel syndrome and then about three years ago with arthritis in my fingers. I can definitely sympathize with...

I do feel more fatigue when the weather is extra hot or cold. I live in Florida, so we have a lot more extra hot weather. From June through September I retain a lot of extra fluid. I have always wondered if that contributed to the inflammation.

    Can you stop having fibromyalgia?

Have you ever known anyone who had fibromyalgia and then stopped having it? I know we all find various ways to cope with our symptoms, but is there hope of it going away?

    does anyone get boils?

That's interesting that you would ask this question. I find that I get more frequent cysts or boils than I ever have before. (I'm not really sure what the difference between the two is.) I had wondered if it had anything to do with my immune system or the fibromyalgia. I do want to caution...

Who is the most supportive for you?

My husband tries to understand, but he seems to often forget what I'm going through. My eldest daughter is actually the one who puts her support into action more often. She does a lot of my housework and some of the cooking for the family. I am blessed to have her.

    new blood test for fibromyalgia

I just read an article that says there are researchers who may have developed a blood test for fibromyalgia. The blood test can indicate whether you have osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, or fibromyalgia. All three have similarities, but in the fibromyalgia patients, the blood showed...
