Now that sounds like real fun. 🐶 What size? :p. Normal foam rollers and tennis balls hurt me too much, last time in the neck'n'back group we were given a Pilates roller and told that they are (longer, thicker and) less firm, but from what I see you can get firm and softer rollers.

Hi Jackthevoid.
I also suffer with extreme back pain. I was advised to get a cushion especially shaped for my lower back. This has improved my posture and I can sit for longer. Also heat seems to work for me, so I have several heat pads. I also take CBD oil about an hour before I go to bed and this helps considerably. I now sleep for at least 8 hours, I still take naps during the day. Sleep is a great healer and providing you are comfortable in bed, your body is relaxed and the muscles lose their tension. I hope this helps as I found the pain very hard to deal with. I still have bad days but they are less than 3 months ago.

Hi Scalise, you mentioned CBD has a salve? Would you happen to know where your friend gets this from? It's something that I would like to try since it could work?

I'm sorry to hear that. I experienced lower back pain on my right side a year ago and it hurts a lot. I was unable to bend, sit and stand for a long time. I was referred to a physiotherapist for low back pain relief and it helped me. My intensity of pain was reduced and get rid of my back pain. They will suggest some exercise and workouts which helped me to get back to my normal life. So it's better to take physiotherapy treatment. Hope you recover soon.

I've been dealing with Fibro since 2006. Haven't slept well, pain levels high and I am limited on what I can take since I've had a heart attack. Very frustrating.
Recently I purchased a new mattress and it's helped tremendously with sleep and less pain when waking up. I had horrible right shoulder pain,1st night on the new mattress and since I haven't had an issue. Back pain has been better, not gone, but better.
I went with a memory foam with a firmness of 5 of 10,which is good for back and side sleepers. I thought it would sleep kind of hot,but that hasn't been a problem either.
I have went through probably 5 mattresses since 2014 and this one has been the best. I get a good resting sleep most nights.

I , like you get terrible back pain , especially mid back up into the shoulder blades and neck area! The biggest relief I have found is using a Vybe massage gun. Its the only thing I have found that I can honestly say helps with the pain.

Cindy I recommend that you check out my advice post (you will find it above in this thread, or else pinned at the very top of the General forum) and start doing some of those things that you are not already doing. You may find that some changes will make the pain less frequent and less intense.

There are also great exercises for bac k pain, and you can look these up online. Make sure they are in a reputable place, and that you do exercises designed for the location of your pain (upper or lower back, shoulder, etc).

Meantime, the Vybe helps, and that is great! I have not tried one of those but I do use a TENS sometimes for certain kinds of pain.

Nailgunner I found a cream that works really good for my back, way better than the muscle rubs I put on before, it’s by livingwell nutraceuticals, they do joint support capsules too, this stuff made the difference between me spending the day in bed taking constant co codamol and being able to get up and on with my day and it’s yummy scented too!

You can also try calendula cream rubbed on the area. It has only helped me nominally but it is worth a try.
