Hello.

I am new here and have literally just registered. I havent read anything on the site yet and also, I have a rough idea what fibro is and the symptoms but havent looked deeply into it. In my heart I feel that I do have fibomyalgia and have had it for very many years.

I am 58 and since about the age of 45 I have had the same symptoms. I was diagnosed with very mild lupus about 14 years ago and also mild sjogrens. The lupus isnt a problem and is in remission and was never really very severe bothering me only when i was younger. The sjogrens does remain mild and i mainly just bothered with a very dry mouth and sore gritty eyes etc.......

I also suffer from a dodgey back/neck and so have tended to put most aches and pains down to this......I am not under any specialist or hospital and only visit my GP when i ahve to for a review of meds i take for high bp. I am somebody who cannot be asked with doctors every five minutes - they arent interested - half the time they dont have the answers and i dont believe there is anything they can give me to feel better and i am sure that a lot fo people are put into this exaggerating category etc....i jsut think they couldnt care.....i work full time and my biggest task seems to be trying to stay well enough for work.

Firstly can i just say that on googling in the past, i have all the trigger point pain when i press there........my reason for coming onto a forum is that since thursday i have felt so shocking - in so much pain and so tired with a dreadful headache that i have told everybody is flu....but i suspect that it isnt as i dont have a sore throat etc............i always tell people when i feel particularly unwell that i have a virus.......and then spend ages angsting at what in fact could be wrong with me......

These are my symptoms as i type........which have troubled me for absolutely years......sometimes i feel a bit better - sometimes a lot better with just a bit of pain and most of the time i just limp along feeling dreadful.....

Pain, pan and more pain.........i admit that i do have an old facet joint injury in my upper back and neck probs.......but for years i have had pain in the whole of my upper torso at the back - righ across my back, my shoulders, my neck and into the base of my head and up into awful headaches that might turn into nauseous migraine type headaches........all of my spine will be tender to touch and the muscles incredibly painful.....unable to touch the muscles in my neck, shoulders and upper back........it will also feel s though i am wearing a straight jacket.....the tension is so extreme that sometimes my head and neck will get jerky and shaky and the more tense i become the more shaky it all becomes........over the last few days it feels as though i ahve been run over by a truck.........pain in my knees on the inner sides of the knee cap area...........and sooooo tired.......exhaustion more like....i wake up feeling ill and exhausted..........just tired and ill all the time...............and the pain is like raging flu in all of my joints and muscles...............i have thought things like it must be dreadful arthritis.....but even though i feel i must have some arthritis - i dont think this is......i literally cannot touch the muscles in my neck and shoulders etc.........it also seems as though this thing waxes and wanes.....as though its always there a little bit and then sometimes it is there dreadfully badly - i always say i have virus.......

I also have had ibs for absolutely years.....i get so tired that everything seems hopeless and so i will be depressed etc.....but anxious inside.......also my spine gets so tender and painful too......and surely fibro is all muscles.........

i know these forums cannot diagnose and i wouldnt expect you to but does this sound like fibromyalgia to you...........my sister is a nurse and she thinks that i ahve it......and if i do have it i have had it for absolutely years...............

sorry to have rambled so very much....many thanks indeed

Pain ranging like a flu and tender point definitily a fibro. Tired when we sleep, eat, sit, work, depresion, ache when we sleep. Dry eye, diare. I am sorry its the fibromyalgia. I also have that symtom too.

Sure sounds like it to me.what do u do for a living btw. Fibro can mimic luopus have u been check that it's not the luopus getting worse ?welcome to the site x

achingallover, welcome to the forum!

Did you do research on Lupus? its the body attacking itself. mild lupus?. remission? s this doctor a lupus specialist?
what organ did they say you had lupus in? your symptoms sound like Fibro, lupus, or even small fiber neruopathy.
do some research and get real answers from your doctors.
