Hello everyone,

I am new here. I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia about two years ago and was quite surprised by the diagnose. It took quite a while and various test to find out that it was Fibromyalgia. I am not convinced though and am worried that it could be MS. Just in this past year, new symptoms such as Vertigo and electrical current sensation down my neck and spine have started occurring and happen often. In the past two weeks, I consistently have a tremor in my body. I have had that when feeling anxious when I was younger and when dealing with a stressful situation, but recently it has happened almost every day. Has anyone here experienced something similar?

Yep, that electric feeling (mine feels as if thousands of tiny electrical ants are crawling on me) is not uncommon with fibro.

Both MS and Fibro are diagnoses that are the result of eliminating everything else. Keep doing your research and whatever tests you can get until you have a pretty good idea what it is.

Hello Sunkacola,

Thank you for your reply. I do continue to do research. I do not currently have a physician and always have to go to the clinic when dealing with various new symptoms. I find it very frustrating to not be followed by the same doctor and specialists who know your history. I will be possibly getting a nurse practitioner and will ask for a second opinion, just to rule out MS for sure. Thank you again for your input. Much appreciated!

Hi Alakazou, Oh boy, I know that one. People like me without a lot of money always have to go to some cheap or free clinic and get a different doctor every time and have to basically start over every time. It's shameful that the US doesn't have national health care. At least, you have that in Canada and it's a good system. Maybe you can find a doctor who will be on a long-term basis with you and that will help a lot. Start with that if you can and take it from there. You also have the advantage that marijuana is federally legal in Canada and that has helped a lot of folks with fibro, including myself. BC is a beautiful place.

I get electric shocks in my hands or finger tips. I get them across my chest and sometimes from a lower tooth down to my chest. If I have a really hefty sneeze, lightning rides my nerves from my chest, into my armpits and down both arms. The pain is excruciating, but passes after a minute of so. I believe the origin is costochondritis, but the fibro takes over with the nerve pain.

Hi Alakazou,
I am new here too. The minute I read about the electrical current sensation you experience I could totally relate. Wow..... The same thing happens to me. I have had these awful electric currents move randomly around my body. This sensation
can be frightening. I also experience pins and needles all over and a type of tremor that comes and goes. The sensation comes and goes randomly. I never know when I'm going to experience it again until the next time. Another fibro thing. I was concerned for a while there that I had MS. I had an MRI that showed no signs of MS thank goodness. The test was expensive but worth the peace of mind.
I am really enjoying reading everyone's posts, past and present. We are all going through some difficult times. It helps to have people who understand to talk to.
