After viewing a half a dozen posts, I came to realize something extremely important.
1) people rely on our un-educated doctors too much
2) people are hoping for miracle drug that cures all
3) no one mentioned food intolerances/sensitivity
4) elimination diet were hardly mentioned
5) if I ever hear one reference to a psychologist I will scream

Let us start with doctors, they aren't helpful are they. Why? I don't know. They send us for test after test, after all they need to eliminate other possibilities before they can label you with fibromyalgia or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. They send us to Gastroentorologist or rheumies, or shrinks, all of which are ill-educated.
They have a pill for every ill mentality. This frustrates me, let's look at diabetes, an avoidable and also reversable condition, do they tell their patience that proper dieting and exercise will eliminate their dependence on drugs? Nope, they just add more.
Fibro isn't avoidable but it surely is controllable through proper dieting, exersise, nope, walking or mild yoga outdoors will. Presciption drugs don't eliminate enough of our symptoms and for many sure does make it worse. Besides drugs are easier then dieting am I right? Doesn't help our healthcare any but who cares if our children will suffer from our lazyness or lack of education.
If you are eating foods that come with a label, it contains MSG. If you do not know about the dangers of MSG, google it. If you don't care and just want to eat everything and anything, you will suffer and no doctors can help you.

Read "7 foods to avoid if you have Fibromyalgia"
Gluten, dairy, MSG, aspartame, nightshades, yeast, and I can't remember what else are mentioned but didn't say why.

Elimination diet are our primary diagnostic tool we have, this will expedite your diagnosis.

The one major thing I noticed. not one single person mentioned, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. If you have fibro, you may have MCS, if you have CFS you may have MCS, if you have MCS you may have Fibro and/or CFS. These are somehow linked. Many have all 3, some just have 1 or 2. It is your job to research and educate your physician. You need to find a specialist that deals with MCS, they are the most educated about fibro.
In Canada I only found 2 clinics experienced and educated enough to deal with Fibro properly and they will work with your family physician. Find a clinic near you. Until we have our governments funding research, much research has been done but more needs to be done. We are on our own and need to educate our Gov't to educate our Doctors. You can cry, scream or beg for that miracle cure but that will not help you. Hell they don't have cure for the common cold so don't hold your breath. Our Doctors can only do what our governments allow them to do, which are owned by bio-tech companies who make billions on our ill-health. No money in healthy people, no money in dead people, so keep us sick, we buy meds, they make billions while we raise our healthcare to the point that it will no longer exist.
The Women's College Hospital in Toronto have an Environmental Health Clinic, and there is 13 month waiting list. So hop to it...
If you want to continue working or get back to work, eliminating/avoiding all things that cause you harm is the best option you have, good luck.

I couldn't agree more with the first point, doctors seem so uneducated. I have met several "doctor" who didn't even know the difference between an MRI and a CT scan (ionizing radiation) is. Unbelievable, but true.

As for dieting, I believe it can help but doesn't work for everyone. Just like the diet I tried to control my insulin resistance, but a good diet can make wonders.
