Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is having a slightly less pain free day! I know you are all never pain free. I wanted to ask if anyone has trouble with excessive sweating? I mean just doing the dishes and your hair is soaked typed sweating? I am also smack dab in the middle of menopause and diabetic to boot! So it just might be a triple threat. But, it is affecting my life as I don’t want to go to the store or anywhere for that matter as it is so embarrassing. I don’t know if anyone ever watched the show “The Closer” with Kyra Sedgwick but she looked just like I do these days when her character was going through peri menopause. I have had fibromyalgia for over 26 years and this sweating is just an awful symptom! If anyone else feels this way, please let me know what you can do to help? I am in HRT but not sure it is right dose. Please take care everyone and sending gentle hugs to you all! ❤🌺🌸💐

You didn't mention if you're on any medication for your fibro. I have the same problem with excessive sweating and have been humiliated for years. I finally discovered that the meds I'm on are most likely the cause. Lyrica (pregabalin) may cause a small increase, but the biggest culprit are opioids. I was prescribed by a pain specialist years ago, and while I have decreased my use, I cannot stand the debilitating pain without some of the meds. While I'm still humiliated by the excessive sweating, it is better than the God awful, wish I would die pain I have without them.
I'm so sorry for your suffering and wish you all the best

Hi Dawn,
Thank you for the lovely reply. And yes, I am on pain meds for my fibromyalgia and like you, have tapered down recently with further to go. I hope you have a good Monday with less pain! 🌸🌼😀

CalgaryChris, it seems likely to me that the sweating so horribly is a part of your menopause. I have known several women who had that while going through menopause.

I was sweating profusely at night. The bed and night clothes were soaked. My endocrinologist put me on oestrogen patches and they went away. Be careful about side effects though . Breast
and uterus problems

Hi Chris. I also suffer from excessive sweating day and night. It's winter now here in Australia and while my partner needs the heating on, I'm already in the minimum amount of clothing and frequently go and stand outside to try and cool off. My hair is just a bit more than shoulder length and it ends up wet.
Doing dishes, getting dressed after a shower, getting undressed, cooking, having a warm drink, having a cold drink, not having a drink. Eating, not eating. At night when I go to bed, I read and sweat. Once I settle down to go to sleep, the sweats really kick in and it's blankets on, blankets off, feet out, feet in, body uncovered, body covered.
I'm no longer on Pregablin (Lyrica), so it's not that and Cymbalta didn't agree with me.
I am almost 60 and post menopausal, but the sweats have continued and progressed since peri menopause and menopause itself.
Currently on Plaquenil 400mg - 2 x 200mg daily, Palexia 200mg - 2 x 100mgdaily, Effexor (Venlafaxine) 75mg daily, and for other conditions Perindopril 4mg (hypertension), Pantrorazole 40mg (GERD).
I also used the patches for menopause and they were fantastic. I used them from the late spring to mid Autumn (Fall) over 2 years. They were magic. I was on the lowest possible dose and if nothing else works for you, I'd suggest you research them for yourself and maybe consider them.
Best of luck and soft hugs from down here.
