Hello everyone!

Nice to meet you all, I'm Támara. I'm still undiagnosed, but I've been experiencing the pain, the nausea, the depression and the fog for years, so I'm going to be checking with a specialist about it soon. I've also been experiencing symptoms of pure OCD with intrusive thoughts that won't leave me alone and that have become more severe lately. I read that this can also be caused by fibromyalgia.

It's been impacting my life, making me unable to eat, sleep and concentrate on anything, targeting the things I enjoy so I can't enjoy anything any more. It's a lot of constant overthinking and ruminating. This has been going on for months without pause.

I wondered if any of you have experienced the same and if you have some tips to combat this.

Thank you very much and have a nice day!

Hi TamaraK, welcome!

I had not heard those types of thoughts are related to fibro but I did deal with them when I was younger and felt like they were link to anxiety and depression for me.

Ultimately a mindfulness practice and meditation have helped me overcome those types of thoughts. On another thread I recently recommended this book:

Full Catastrophe Living: Using the Wisdom of the Body and Mind to Face Stress, Pain and Illness by John Kabat-Zinn

I recently read it but it is a good summary of the techniques I learned years ago to help overcome repetitive thoughts and the resulting anxiety. I did try a lot of different medications for anxiety and depression but none helped so much as learning to be present and mindful with whatever is going on.

Hello Affinity!

Thank you very much for your answer. I'm sorry to hear you've dealt with it too, but mindfulness and meditation are something I'm going to be looking into now. I'll also take a look at the book because de-stressing sounds like the way to go.

Thanks again!
