Gabapentin and fatigue

Hi everyone,

I've been on 1200mg of gaba for about 6 months now (600x2 daily).

Lately I have been feeling completely exhausted and feel like the fibro fog is in my brain again.

Anyone else have this problem on gaba? Not sure if it's the meds, the fibro, or something more serious.

Anyone else's experiences would be helpful!

Yes . Gabapentin side effect cause more fatigue. I have to stop that eventhough it lessen the pain. But i need to work. Additional fatique cannot be tolerated. Not just gaba but amitriptylin also cause more fatigue.

I have been taking 1200mg of gabapentin for 7 yrs. My pain specialist had me taking the full dose at bedtime, but this past yr my psychiatrist suggested taking 400mg 3 times a day because it only stays in your system for 4 hrs. He told me it can have a somewhat sedating effect. I dont really have much problem with fatigue but I have some level of pain every day. My doctor will not give me any narcotic pain meds so I have to deal with it.

Hi I'm taking gab only 300 mg at night to help me sleep through the night - I'd never be able to tolerate it during the day - I have enough brain fog as it is! Lol good luck!
