I'm not trying to sell anything here, well not for personal profit. Anyway I bought a book called Women Living with Fibromyalgia by Mari Skelly. I feel like I want to scream from the rooftops! It's not my imagination! It's real! And all you people that look at me with a lifted eyebrow!!! Please read this book! Omgosh, this is a real disease, and yes its attacking my body! And no there's not a cure!

If I never pick this book up again, I'm happy, I'm valadaited, so ewwwwww, Bad word. Anyway I feel COMPELLEDd to share.

Chapter 2 : And some sources state that about 50% of fm patients report heightened sensative to oder, noises, bright lights ,medication, changes in weather and or various foods.
Finially difficulty processing, understanding, and retaining information , is another( maddening )I will be and sometimes disabling symptom that many FM patients deal with every day.

I will be bringing this info to my next Dr. APPOINTMENT.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

moe1959,

Thank you for sharing this book with the forum. All of us are always on the look out for a book that explains Fibromyalgia, and tells the truth about this disease. Shout it from the rooftops. It is real and really painful and hard to live with. Now party! :)

I read this book about a month ago. The New Fibromyalgia Remedy by Daniel C. Dantini M.D. He prescribes antivirals and getting tested for food allergies. I have had fibromyalgia for almost 20 years and have tried many things. Nothing has ever worked before. I eliminated milk, coffee and cheese from my diet and I take 500 mg of Valacyclovir at night before bed. I saw a fibromyalgia specialist in NYC who agreed and prescribed the antivirals for me. I FEEL LIKE I'M GETTING MY LIFE BACK. I have energy again. It took about 3 weeks for the antivirals to start working. I can actually go grocery shopping and biking in the same day. I don't have that never ending fatigue. I wanted to get this information out there. I believe fibromyalgia is virus related. I am feeling better. Not 100% but over 60 %. I have been taking antivirals for almost 5 weeks.

TeeKae any side affects from the anti virals..I am getting desperate now for something...but really I don't think fibro is a viral thing. What information or research persuaded you it was viral?

Glad somethings helping you though!

That's great news, I will share with my Dr. Thank you!

I saw a Fibromyalgia specialist in NYC who told me about the viral connection and the book I mentioned backs it up. I haven't had any side effects that I'm aware of.
