I am new to this forum, and new diagnosed with Fibro. To be honest I didn't feel I needed the support of others, but I am finding it difficult to talk to family and friends. They don't understand the condition. Looking forward to some helpful, positive feed back.

Welcome, Nanaof8! I think you'll hear that a lot here... about family and friends not understanding. Without them actually being able to feel the degree of pain, even the nicest most caring person in the world would respond with the only data they know... which is their own experience with pain.

So to them, it's like "well just overlook the pain and do -whatever-" because they're speaking about the pain *they* know, which may be something like a sore back or "regular" arthritis. Deep overall pain that often takes regular day-to-day function away is something that's usually not understood by someone who hasn't experienced it.

In any case, I hope you'll enjoy your time here... the support is amazing!
