I am new to this forum. Its been recommended I start talking to people about my FM because I'm really struggling tovwrap my head around it.
I was diagnosed 2 years ago but still feel clueless to what is going on with me. I, also, struggle with mental illness.
Hope to learn a lot.

Welcome you've come to the right place!
Read learn and grow.

Wrap your head around it..OK.

FM is in short nerve pain. Plain n simple.
Our nervous system is our bodies message path.
All messages go to the brain through the nervous system.
When the messages go through the nerves it causes pain and
Burning knife pains. Pain causes us to not sleep. Not sleeping
Causes us to get fatigue. Fatigue causes muscle spasms and
Brain fog. Brain fog causes us to lose memory motor functions.
As the muscles is what tells the brain to send pain. It uses the nerves
To send that message to the brain.

They give us meds like gabby, lryica, cymbalta which
Are nerve blockers. Less messages, less use of nervous
System = less pain.
There is no cure and you see the only treatment for it.

I hope this helps you understand what you now have.

Hi Jayenut!

Welcome! Glad you found this place. It has helped me to realize I am not the only one going through this. One thing that really helped me was to find a therapist I could talk to about my frustration with the medical people involved in my life. Also, finding a doctor who really believes FMS is real is important. I have had some who thought it was all in my head. It isn't and I have now found a primary care doctor who feels it is real and sent me to the pain clinic. They don't know much more than we do but are trying to help me. Be kind to yourself and put yourself first. Don't push yourself. Don't over do it on good days because you will feel worse after. I have major recurrent depression also. I had to get on meds that helped with that before I could even begin to tackle my fibromyalgia. Best to you and again welcome!

That was the best explaination I have heard. Thank you.
