Hello I'm Emmy,
I was diagnosed with medullary sponge kidney and fibromyalgia in 2012 .
I amino so much pain and my doctor has me on the lowest dose of oxycodone to "manage" my pain.
I take 20 mg (4pills) a day at once, I suffer till I can't take it anymore. I get 56 pills a month and I also pass kidney stones quite often. I express to my doctor my pain, we have tried almost everything! And the only thing that touches my pain is my oxycodone. He tells me he would rather me be in pain than watch me die of an o.d., but....with pain all the time I wanna kill myself anyway.
I have been to many doctors, they told me they don't think I'm in pain, but....I am in severe pain what am I supposed to even do?

I honestly think the first thing you need to do is see a new doctor who has more experience with fibromyalgia! Is the doctor you are seeing a GP or a Rheumatologist?

Hi Emmy, Iam sorry that you are experiencing so much pain right now. I am new here but I know this is a great place for you to be. One of the best things you can do is to realize you are not alone. And there are people out there who truly understand what you are going through. Emmy I know this is so hard for you. And you are only 18, that is so young. But try different doctors till you find the right one. And never stop talking to people who understand you and will listen to you.

I'm sorry to hear about your pain, especially the kidney stones. I couldn't imagine how difficult that is to have to deal with. Hopefully you can find a better doctor that can fully support you and understand completely what you are going through. Good luck with everything.

Emmy, Hi there. Welcome to the forum. It is hard giving advice about pain management. I think your doctor maybe concerned about your getting addicted to oxycondone, and concerning the ongoing kidney stones. The bad part of some addictive drugs is the more you take the less they become affective making you think you need more and more.

I would agree with SulaBlue, about you seeing a Rheumntologist and maybe a pain specialist. Also start reading around the forum and maybe you will find some new ideas on pain management from all these other folks that suffer with continuous pain. Everyone here will try to give you mental support as you try dealing with your symptoms of fibromyalgia. I look forward to reading your posts and helping answer any questions you may have. Hi Emmy, I was resently diagnosed with fibro, im 23 years old and my doctor has sent me to a pain clinic which they have now given me hope, i am currently on the max dosage for Cymbalta, and lyrica and i take 20mg of morphine a day min, the pain clinic does not like narotics so they use other means such as nerve blockers, epidurals, massage, etc you should def look into a new doc or ask him to send you to a pain specailist because he doesnt specailize in the pain you are experencing. and no one will ever believe you about how severe your pain is, not even my fiance of 4 years understands how bad it is... if you ever wanna talk please feel free i just joined this site today haha so i dont no anything about it yet but please keep strong
