First off welcome to the forum. In answer to your question, yes, the tender painful spots are quite common with fibro. In the pain management section there is an on-going talk going on about this subject. Sometimes it comes in a new forum of migraine headache, and other times it seems there is no real reason for these areas. Fibro is having highly irrated nerve endings which causes wide spread pain issues.
Sometimes the use of a heating pad helps, only use low settings. Other people use cold cloths and sleep in darkened rooms as at times sunlight can make the symptoms worse. Try taking headache medication and relax as much as possible. See you around the forum.
