Medication Free after being newly diagnosed (Amitriptyline, Gabapentin)

Lryica did help me, probably only 50%. But the side effects and weight gain (my spine can’t handle the extra weight) were too much so a tapered off them after my brain fog and memory had gotten really bad.
My pain specialist told me it can take up to 7 to 9 months for that to return to normal. I just thought wow if that one pain med could do that and I was on a few. Then it’s time to loose the big meds.

The side effects had me too harpy 😱

already had brain fog that with Hashimoto's use KH3 (GH3 in the US- increases the blood flow to the brain) to overcome that and also do regular brain exercises on NeuroNation which help have an increase in brain function since starting on both. Lyrica can give you fluid retention but have had that for long before I started Lyrica

Here is my "big advice post" that I refer everyone to for my best tips on how to manage fibromyalgia. I actually can say a whole lot more but the post was already long and I didn't want it to be longer or I was afraid no one would finish reading it. It covers the basics. Nan, if you want to know more or have any questions, please feel free to make a post and ask, or you can send a private message to me if you prefer.

One thing I would strongly recommend is that you start doing whatever you can that might alleviate some of the pain, and you get yourself off those opioids. For one thing, as you are discovering, opioids are not always even that helpful with fibro pain..... as evidenced by the fact that you are taking them and you are still in pain. But the main reason is they are HIGHLY addictive, and you cannot take an opioid every day without becoming addicted to it. Addiction is never a good thing, and only adds to your problems.

Let me know if I can help further.
