Hi, I need someone to talk to. I have run out of pain medicine and my doctor is on vacation. The doctor on call doesnt believe in fibro, and the hospital doesnt want to help that much were pain is concerned. I havent had pain meds for 2 days and Im hurting so bad. I just want someone to talk to. Someone to say its going to be okay and Ill get throgh this.

It's going to be OK snckrs! Is there anything else that you usually do to help with the pain? For me heat helps so getting in a hot tub or sitting in the shower helps for a bit. I think someone should make a body sized heating pad!

I really feel for you. ive been there. if any way possible, try to sleep through it. sorry there is not much help out there in my experiences. I agree, heat does help alittle. but like you there is no way I can get complete relief without my pain meds. too bad 1 bad apple spoils the whole bunch or maybe people that really need them could have them! the medical profession is ssssssssssssoooooooooooooooooooo behind on this disease it's no where near funny. it's to the point where I don't even care if anyone believes me or not. wish I could help you.

Thanks so much for the responses. It helps knowing Im not alone. I put Icey Hot on my knees and that helps.

I know the feeling, I'm sure we all do. Just take a deep breath and try to relax. I know its easier said than done.

Hey links. Its just been a hell of a day. Yeap deep breathing is helping alot. Pain was so bad earlier I had a panic attack. Never had one of those before. Scared the hell out of me.

snckrs, hold in there! I know it's hard, but your doctor will be back soon. Shame on the doctor who is taking his place for not believing in fibro; what a douche! As for the pain... have you tried something called ''tei fu''? It's manufactured by Nature's Sunshine, it's an nice oil that comes in a small bottle, but it's so good that ca numb your pain quite fast. I've used it to numb pain everywhere in my body. It works great!

Doctors can be real jerks! Why in the year 2014 can a Doctor be so behind in the times. He should go back to school, how dare him allow you to suffer in pain like that. SHAME ON HIM!

I have been suffering in pain for about 6 yrs. My pain specialist is a no narcotic doc, so he gives me Savella, Gabapentin, Flexiril and Ambien. None of these meds help decrease pain very much. The Flexiril helps somewhat for my shoulder muscle spasms but I basically suffer until bedtime when I can take the Ambien and knock myself out. Tylenol and Advil do nothing, like taking candy. My pain is triggered by the cold air I have blowing directly on me at work every day. I wear underarmour and a wind proof jacket to be able to stand it. No one at my work understands that I am not just cold, but that the cold makes my muscles feel like they are being ripped off my bones. One of my colleagues even had the gall to say that she was tired of me *****ing about being cold.

Can you plug a heater in under your desk? I am an electrician and I see them in offices all the time under the desks. Ive had a few panic attacks, They really freak me out, too. Feels like my hard is gonna explode. I wish I Could sleep.

Unfortunately, no I cant have a space heater as I work in a hospital and dont stay in one place all the time. There are about 6 large vents in the ceiling that blow constantly year round. Possibly could have deflectors placed on the vents but then my co workers will complain about being hot. A no win situation.

What about those microwaveable heat packs- like the ones with the rice or whatever in them? Or even the thermapatch things, I mean they're a one time use deal but if it helps, it helps... Lol

Or, I just did a Google search for 'Heated clothing' and one of the top few results was from. Cabela's, and they have a line of of clothing that's actually battery powered and you can turn it on and off as needed! I'll private message to you a link I found, as no links are allowed on the forum... They seen expensive but it might be worth it to solve this problem! Who knows, there may be other similar technology from other companies that could be cheaper!

Snckrs, you've gone MIA since you last posted on here it seems... I hope you're okay! Worried about you!

When your main doctor comes back, I would tell him (even anonymously) that the replacement does not believe in handling the same types of cases he does, so that (hopefully!) next time he needs to take some time off, he will find a suitable replacement that more believes in his own way of doing things.

Look up acupressure points also! Hope she is ok..some drs are. So clueless.i get relief in many ways ...topical pain relievers, heat, eft tapping, dr mercola writes about this on his website
