Hi Everyone,
My name is Debbie and I also have Fibromyalgia , Along with that I have other conditions including Epilisy, Tourette Sydrome , and others, I take a total of 32 pills per day. That is a cut down from 41 that i used to be on. Here is my problem currently September of this month my new doctor that i switched to "finally" diagionased me with Fibromyalgia after he took the time to care and the others didn't , but 5 yrs ago I had Gastric Bypass surgery so he said i cant take any medicine for this condition except tylenol and he dosent like to give out pain meds like loritab and i dont like taking those anyways.. Today I just turned 38, November 5th and for the last 2 nights i have only gotten aprox 4 hrs sleep because of the sever pain and swelling in my neck area majorly than any other area.
I need advice , What can i do either over the counter or should i go to a specialist ? I see a neuorligist for my seizures and tourette's but he says he cant help me either.. I have had this condition for about 8 yrs now but the other drs i have seen have never paid any attention to what i have had to say and they never cared about my pain.. It is so severe I need advise and help.. Im not sleeping and I have 3 children to take care of, I just recently got married and I want to make a life. I am just asking for some advice that is all.

I will be moving from NY to NC in the next month and a 1/2 and im not sure if the warm weather will help this condition but our family wants to go there for many reasons..

Tonight I have tried to lay down so many times and now its 3:40 am and i have gotten no sleep because of the severity of the pain.

Any Advice will help me.. I will say this again .. Due to gastric bypass i can take no medicine due to the fact they say I cant take motrin products but i have been taking otc motrin 800 mg and that isn't even helping me.. Im in tears and need advice please..
Thank you so much for reading this.. It took me so long to type it i cant tell you . Probally about 2 hrs or so because i dont want to use my arms but I am hoping that maybe one person will give me some kind of hope or advice..
Thank you again for listening and even if you give me some hopeful advice i will try anything at this point because i feel like i cant even move anymore.
God bless
Debbie

Hi! I take 2 over the counter supplements that help me. One is an aspirin-like product called 'End Pain' and the other is 'Revitalizing Sleep Formula'. There are a lot of supplements and vitamins that you can try so you might also want to get a book. The one I liked is called 'From Fatigued to Fantastic'. Hope that helps, feel better soon!

Please read through the alternative methods section and you might find some of the suggestions there may help relieve your pain. I use a thick pad on my bed to cushion my hips and legs and back. You can find them in fiber cotton batting or stuffed with feathers, or use a foam pad. That really helps. Try some ginger capsules for pain, if you can use them. Try to relax as much as possible by watching funny movies or resting with a blanket warmed by the dryer over your body. Try to relieve stress and talk to a therapist if needed for depression that comes from being in pain or being unable to enjoy life.
Ask more questions and join in and answer posts as well. Hope to see more of you around the forum. :)

Tough break for you. I'm not sure what to offer for advise. Since you can't take pills I think 1sweed offered some solid advice. Beyond that I'm not sure as I said. I would say try medical cannabis but NOT in NC because it's not legal there yet. Try some gentle stretching and easy yoga postures. Good luck...Mike
