I am seeing a new Rheumatologist due to new onset on symptoms. I'm having intermittent bilateral calf pain, not cramps, for no apparent reason over the past year. Extremely tender behind knees and along calfs. Tightness in calf muscle to the point sometimes I limp. Doesn't appear to be coming from low back per MRI. Nothing makes it feel better, comes on 1 or 2x a month for 4 to 7 days over past year then disappears. Anyone else have this. Thanks!

doctors don't run the forum and as far as I know do not respond

hello Bekind,

Doctors do not run this forum. This is an open forum, moderated by volunteers, and designed for everyone everywhere who has fibromyalgia. At this time we do not have any doctors as members of this forum. But we do help each other out a great deal, by giving answers to questions, personal experience, thoughts and ideas, and mutual support. this is a peer group.

If your pain comes and goes it may be caused by something other than fibromyalgia, and it is a good idea to check out everything that could be responsible for it.

Agreed. My Dr ran blood panel for auto immune disease and its all negative. My MRI for low back doesn't show reason for it either. I'm seeing Rheumatologist Friday. It's really strange and gives me anxiety. Just not knowing what's causing it. I'm getting 2nd opinion from orthopedic surgeon Friday as well. I have a bad back and neck from being rear-ended 2010. Ty!

Looking for your new rheumatologist probably got you here because....
on the main site associated with the forum there are long, but older lists, of docs for fibro and CFS.
These doc lists were put together by people like us. On the forum we hardly ever talk about names of docs. An exception is me referring UK people at a loss to Chris Jenner in London, who advises GPs all over the country, which is a ray of light in an otherwise pretty morbid ;) health system.
Apart from that, it doesn't make much sense as we're pretty much spaced apart over the world. On an MCAS forum I know people regularly ask for a specialist in some place, but hardly ever get answers.
