Newly diagnosed....now what?

Hi everyone! I was just diagnosed with FM in the past few weeks, after two months of torture going from specialist to specialist for tests. I have been taking Elavil since January, and while it is helping with my anxiety and headaches, it's not really doing much for the aches, pains, trouble sleeping and pins-n-needles feeling. Anyone have any suggestions on ways to ease the pain and getting a good night's sleep without taking more medication? I hate taking medicine...not for weird reasons, I just don't like it! Thanks for taking the time -- I'm hoping to piggy back on some of your successes

Welcome, first see my post under general discussions starting a daily log book and why it helps. start there. find your triggers and avoid them, get sleep but staying on a set sleep schedule. come to terms you need the meds. the more pain the less sleep. it's not just going to go away. sorry. get some help.
start your book right away. see what is fibromyalgia in general disscusions. do a search on fatigue and read the posts. do research.

Welcome to the site,I'm sorry I can't offer much other then hot baths or showers, exorcize for the stiffness .most of us hate taking meds but whatever gets you through the day and helps u sleep has got to be better then sitting there in pain all night.and wiped out all day through pain and lack of sleep.
